MK has also tweeted that he has seen and approved the new badge - he says the fans will love it as 'Salford' is on it!
Great news announced tonight. Said I wasn't going again this season but after tonight's announcement I am hopefully now going tomorrow and getting a season ticket too.

Thank Christ.... Panic over. Just hope that people see the positives from this season and start turning up next season.

Why couldn't this have been announced weeks ago thus putting an end to all this bad feeling?
Just hope now that the Doc, Blease and the club start to go for heart and minds not trying to shame people into supporting the club.
Still think there is something coming, unless there is a new backer who will keep the investment coming it's unlikely the Doc is just going to carry on throwing his pennies away.
Was anything mentioned about the rumoured location change?

M are you the prophet of doom? There is a contract in place to use the AJ Bell for s good while. It would be very costly to break it.
Presumably as things develop with Sale buying the stadium built for us, options, within the City, will be available.
Now just enjoy Salford Red Devil's and the demise of the Bradford Peacock.

Oh don't get me wrong I'm cacking rainbows I'm that happy at that nugget but there must be something other than that, even the Doc can't possibly think a simple new badge will change everything. For me there will be something (maybe an additional name) on the badge that hasn't been released yet.

It's great news, looking forward to tomorrow night without the thought that it could be the last time I see Salford! I just hope we have a nice quiet season next year, no off field dramas and a consolidation in top 6 I'll be very happy!

Can't copy the link to it but there's a article on Sporting Life that says we have also now rejected the option of relocating.
Apparently loses are down to 15% of 2014 and that with gates averaging 4500 next season we can operate at the full salary cap.
I do like having the following quote to keep reading
"I bought the club as Salford and I have no authority to change it.
"I am only the custodian of the club and the club will always belong to the fans and the community."
WHY OH WHY COULDN'T ALL THIS HAVE BEEN SAID WEEKS AGO AND THE FANS NOT LEFT FEELING ALIENATED?

You know the answer to that. He doesn't have an 'off' switch. You can almost guarantee there'll be a similar self inflicted crisis next season. The good news is that there is a 'next season' I would say this but it seemed obvious all along that this would be the outcome in the same way that it's obvious Robbie Paul will go the way of the other New Zealander's that helped MK

The problem is we don't know the full story. He has to negotiate with lots of people, the Council, Peel, Sale etc and one of his arguments has got to be to take the Club somewhere else if they don't go along with what the Club needs. Look at Wakefield, minute to the deadline and the council came up with a plan to keep them in the City.
What we now need is the go forward plan, open and honest, for next year.

Brian Carney said right at the end that there were loads of rumours flying around that the Doc was leaving/selling up? Anyone heard this?

Yeah he’s gone. With the announcement of the badge etc i reckon he wanted to assure the fans that we have a future without him. Someone at the game mentioned the new kit sponsor as an Italian rugby union kit maker so i can only again assume there’s been a Sale takeover.

So what's the basis of the basis of your judgement or is it just a guess?

Yep, heard a couple lf interesting things last night and this was one. Just getting fed up of it all. What I heard was it would be announced today, so fingers crossed if something is happening it doesn't roll on all winter.

He didn't present as somebody who was leaving when he gave his speech at the players awards presentation last night. But like everybody else I heard what Brian Carney said.
For those who are interested he said in his speech that he had 'never had any intention of changing the name' - i was a bit sceptical about that statement! He also said the management consultant company had recommended a rebrand but he rejected it. He also said only a few weeks ago he rejected a big financial incentive to relocate the club to another city.
Re the fans he said there aren't many but what there is are the most passionate in Rugby League.
Side tracking a bit i also thought Manu spoke really well - was talking about looking forward to returning next season
