.[/quote]Absolutely! It's now up to the coach to weed out those players who are not up to the standard needed for a top 4 SL team and replace them with better ones.

I agree but with such a small squad (which even MK admitted to recently) as we've seen it's difficult to drop players as we have no quality to bring in and then add a couple of injuries to the mix and we are well n truely snookered for options. Also coupled with the fact we can't just "weed them out and replace them" as the club decided early this year to tie them all down on long term contracts for the foreseeable.

Good points, Astleyred. I guess it's up to Watson and Blease to sort it out from here. We definitely need a bigger squad with more better-quality players. Who pays for that is another question.

I watched a team last night who played a brilliant brand of rugby which we saw earlier in the season. London Broncos are made up of cast offs young up and coming players and managed by a young keen manager. They have not given up and but for the post and the denial of a penalty which should have been would have beaten Warrington. Why have Salfords players just supposedly given up ? There is more to this than that and the next three games will determine which route the club will be taking for next season. I think this has hit the nail on the head, there is or me a reason in the background for the sudden dramatic loss of form.

As I've mentioned previously I think we need at least 6 decent players to come in.
With Dobbo, Walne, rumoured Krasniqi leaving and possibly Carney not being retained that should free up a lot of cash and at least one quota spot.
Dobbos replacement Quality centre 2 big props A speedy winger
If there's any cash left a back rower - but if we solve the prop issue then we have a number of back rowers available;
Flash McCarthy Huaraki BMM Griffin Lannon Jones
What ever we add at this stage for year 3 into a 3 year plan needs to be of a better quality than what we already have.
Like Wakefield have shown with the addition of Randal Tyler, he adds that extra go forward for them and looks like he's going to be a handful with his scoots from dummy half.

Until evidence surfaces of other areas that are contributing to the poor performances, then I'll personally be drawing conclusions from where there is evidence. Small squad, battered squad, squad of utility players, extended cup run, and early season burnout. it's pointless rolling out the same 'hunch' continually until evidence surfaces. Until then, all that repeating it will do is make it appear in some lazy journalist's copy where it becomes some form of 'truth' by those 'in the know'.

I also concur that something isn't right in the camp. Fatigue shouldn't really be an excuse having had 2 weeks off. We made Wakefield, who I don't think are particularly great, look like world beaters.
I also feel something isn't right with the club as well. I've had some great times going to the games this season but Friday was awful. Even pre match the usual atmosphere in and around the ground was lacking. I'm not sure about moving the fans tent out of the way - I get that it's better for kids to play on the Astro turf - however it didn't seem right.
Went into the ground about 25 minutes before kick off and you could hear a pin drop - there was no pre match music on - to quote the announcer 'the cd collection is lost.'
The pint of Guinness I got from inside the ground for the first half was undrinkable - it tasted like diesel! The pint of John Smiths I got for the second half was also undrinkable and stunk! I've been to some of worst football grounds in the country over the years but at least they had beer that was drinkable!
All in all not a great couple of hours! MK can moan all he wants about crowds but £25 in the West Stand wasn't great value on this occasion.
I brought a couple of lapsed Salford fans with me for their first trip to the AJ Bell having met them on holiday earlier in the year. I spent the entire time saying the rugby and overall experience is usually a lot better than this! Not a great advert all round.
Anyway take the rough with the smooth (not the pint served up on Friday!), been a brilliant season with great memories, so glad I discovered SLRFC, back in 2018 (if there isn't a ridiculous rebrand)

I had a pint of "Guinness" at the match and can concur that was disgusting. I'll drink owt but I had to leave it, one of the foulest things I've ever tasted.

Got three pints of Lager and all tasted sour, was told that the lines needed cleaning, I know enough about the beer industry to say that whoever is running the match day operation needs sacking if they haven't cleaned the lines in the run up to tarting sales.

I had a pint of lager in the tent and it was fine At the risk of going off thread here... I had a couple of Guinness in the tent and they were surprisingly not bad at all, I don't expect Dublin standards but what I got in the stadium was not drinkable. This was from south stand bar, maybe the other bars were ok.
