I think his stint with us has been disappointing. I'm not slating him. For a player with his track record I would've expected more, even with limited opportunity I thought he would have been more imposing

I wouldn't be surprised or that disappointed to be honest. As highly as I rate the guy, he has only shown flashes of his talent and not found any consistency with his form. Sadly I think his best years seem to be behind him. Big shame because at his peak he's definitely one of the top half backs in the league.
If he goes and with Dobbo coming towards the end of his career, who would you look at as a replacement?

Maybe this is an opportunity for all parties. Todd gets to go back home, which he's wanted, and Salford free-up cap space and a quota spot. Everyone's a winner.
While I think he's a great player he seems somewhat distracted while he's been here. He's shown flashes of what makes him a great player, but if his heart is in Australia then good luck to him.

This would probably add more legs to the Declan Patton rumour...
Thanks for the (very) few decent performances Todd, but I agree with Carnster, this is best for all concerned.

I like the flashes of greatness but sadly not enough from TC. With his experience and skill he should be able to run the team as Dobson does. Sadly he never seemed to get into top gear enough times. Would have been good to see what he would have been like after a full pre season but it seems we were probably just a resting place until his Oz situation was sorted.
Good luck mate.

Two maybe three good performances the rest crap. Way past his sell by date and won't be sad to see him go.

A bit of a cheeky response, but I wonder if he will 'do a Moon' all the way to Leeds?

There are a couple of clubs in the NRL that are sniffing about, but if they don't sign him then I think he'll stay with us rather than move on.

Cronulla apparently keen, may be part of his legal wrangling!
Moon went as we couldn't afford to pay him.

Win rate when Carney has started : 14% Win rate when he hasn't : 71%

Win rate when Carney has started : 14% Win rate when he hasn't : 71% Correlation and causality. Be careful with this. What the stat doesn't say is that Carney was more likely to start sporadically when Lui or Dobson were absent. This absence also coincides with the squad tiring and naturally wearing down at the rear end of the season which also means that he gets to play more when the team is more disrupted with injury. Disrupted and tired teams win less. I'm not disputing that he's been disappointing with regards to his general ability, but the team losing more when he was in it doesn't show the whole picture when presented with one stat.

Think if we had have had TC on the books all season and he had been a regular starter we would have seen the real TC, without doubt his in play kicking is a step up from Dobson and Lui. A half back is the type of player who needs regular game time and if I'm honest he would flourish more in SL under a coach who gives his team more attacking plays than Watson does.

What is it with our fans and Todd Carney. Thought it was a bad move when he signed and he has done nothing to change this. Catalans were happy to get rid and there were not a lot of clubs vying for his signature. How many of his passes have you seen fly into touch, how many tries has he made or even actually scored. He would still be crap with a full season under his belt and his recent run in the team has been totally unforgettable. Get rid and bring in a back who actually wants to play for the club.
