The repaired bridge deck is supposed to be installed at the end of the month.

Road works start Monday on the Barton stretch for three months. I assume they are going to finally finish the new road layout. Can't see traffic being great whilst they do it.

Some positive news for the club, traffic to and from the stadium will improve greatly for next season. Plus I'm sure it won't be long now until we see the site developed with some amenities.

You see I don't think it will, the largest number of Salford fans will be coming from the Salford side and highly unlikely to go via Barton swing bridge and then through the chaos that is the billion Trafford Centre lights, very few will use the bridge and I'd guess only the odd fan from St Helens and Widnes who come via the M56 will use it either.

My understanding was there would be access via a new dual carriageway from Peel Green roundabout running parallel to the M60. Also I thought there was a new slip road onto the M60/M602 North bound when exiting the stadium. These were the plans I read on the council website but I appreciate they could have changed.

I can't see it being of much benefit to the club either. It's not as if the roads around the stadium are particularly busy on match days. When I'm approaching along Liverpool Road, I'm more likely to be passed by tumbleweed than by cars full of fans. The only benefit to the club that I can see is if it made it easier for a professional marketing team to make its way to the AJ Bell.

MK says to park at the Trafford Centre and walk! I'll meet him there and walk with him, he could do with a tad of exercise.
How about PARK &RIDE BUSES, from Trafford Centre and Eccles?

It's always struck me as being odd that they didn't complete the road when they were first constructing it and cordon it off rather than stop and start all over again and the associated costs of this.
Overnight last night they were working hard so you'd think it will be done much sooner rather than later. Would be interesting to know what new public transport routes are available after it is completed as a stop directly outside the ground would be a help in the bad weather.

How long would it take to walk from the Trafford Centre to the AJ Bell? I park near Eccles RL which takes around 20 mins.

Not even sure there is going to be pedestrian access over the bridge, don't forget the Metrolink will go over it eventually and you'd been a hell of a wide bridge for 2 lanes of traffic, pedestrians, probably a cycle lane and the trams.

Another road in and out will surely improve access to and from the stadium. I'd also envisage some food outlets that would appeal to some supporters on match days and this could make the SM company look at their food/drink prices. Further to this with new buildings surrounding the stadium it's not going to look like it's in the middle of nowhere like it does at present. Also if new retail businesses are moving on to the site it could potentially lead to some sponsorship opportunities for the club.

Manny I agree with your comments but we shouldn't get too positive on here.
