Shaun Kenny-Dowall confirmed to have signed for Newcastle Knights. Do you have a link bgm? I can't find this on any NRL website I've looked at!

I think we all need to move this to the Lobby forum, at least they make interesting signings!

Leigh are making some interesting signings.
Re Carney he had a goo game at the weekend and a number of the Salford players wished him well.
I know the club had to make a stance but I feel it was a mistake and has been the trend of a number of thread discussions we haven't replaced him. Not for just his pace and go forward but also for the amount of pressure he used to take off the forwards from first hit ups and the yardage he'd make getting us back up the field.

Their strategies for getting promoted/staying up are excellent and the fact that comes on the end of very decent recruitment is brilliant! It has to be said that since MK was badgered by all sorts of vested interests into being quieter times are a lot less interesting and this is reflected in our approach to signings.

What it is with defending of a racist? If any of us said what he did in our workplaces we'd be out of a job. The club were fully justified in getting rid.

There are no prizes for sticking up for Carney but ,firstly, the tribunal accepted that he isn't a racist. Secondly the tribunal gave him a severe punishment. I think he probably had to go but many rugby league players have had their issues, not least Greg Johnson, been punished and carried on. I'm 100% not defending what he said,it was appalling, but let's still keep a sense of proportion

RL is hypocritical, there are players running around in the NRL & SL who have fettled dogs, done more white powered stuff than Lindsey Vonn, driven after too many shandies and at Salford we have a self confessed piss drinker (no not HillBilly Red) and a player who beat a woman. What Carney said was wrong but not premeditated all the examples above were not done in the heat of battle, we should have stuck by him as getting him back against Saints this last weekend would have been like a new signing at one of the most significant times in the clubs recent history. The club were fully justified in getting rid.

Wow come on M6red, with the alleged comment made 90% of the population could be branded a racist. I'm not condoning the act and realise the club had to make a stance, it was more the fact that we've lost such s talent and not replaced him as he offered so much to the team. One of the said players who offered their support at the weekend was Junior Sau, so what ever happened they clearly don't see him as a member of the KKK. Let's not forget we have a convicted sex offender currently playing for us who actually did the crime and people rave his performances week in week out. A player who reportidly slapped his pregnant girl friend around, Yet we laurd his perfomances every week. RL definitely full of double standards.

Spoke to one of the Salford players, who's of mixed race, and he said much worse things get said on the field.
You have to look at the circumstance. It was said in the 'heat of battle' after the offended person had just undertaken a cowardly act in laying out an opposition player, and the offended player has a long history of cowardly acts.
It was not pre- meditated nor said with meaning, it was just anger coming out. I'm sure we've all done and said things in anger that we've regretted.
Nobody would condone what's said but what riles me is that the cowardly opposition player is seen as the offended person and walks away after intentionally hitting a smaller person who was in a very vulnerable position, whom he could have put out of the game and he's well known for doing this. If Carney has gone up to this player and battered him, as was done by a Wigan player in a final, he would still be playing for us.
He was given his punishment which he accepted and then was punished again. And what for......... In my book do the crime, do the time, accept you were wrong, apologise, don't do it again and move on.

So it's OK to be racist if it's in the heat of the moment, I must remember that.
If the alleged comments were what I heard then you Ayres Rock are very much mistaken about 90%, I know most of my family and friends would not say what he did as they are normal decent human beings.

"If the alleged comments were what I heard"
Exactly alleged, from which the tribunal panel deemed he wasn't a racist and yes I agree 90% was probably a bit of an over exaggeration I stand corrected.
But as I stated you've numerous previous posts regarding Johnson who in my eyes has done something equally if not worse, was punished through a court of law and yet you seem it fine that he is still at the club, again RL lots of double standards.
PS it's not Ayres Rock

M6 Red, glad I've found the person who's perfect and never done anything they've regretted. Get real mate, we all do things in the heat of the moment we regret. We get punished and hopefully we apologise and learn.
As Astley Red said, 'he was found not to be racist'.
Is forgiveness not a word in your dictionary? Stop trying to take the moral high ground. We are all generally decent human beings, but we get things wrong now and again. Sadly the person who appeared to be a thug on the night, got away with everything. How does that fit in with your view of morality?
