What's everyone's predictions for the game? I'd be extremely surprised if we win given our recent drop in form, but who knows our performances in the Cup have been fantastic. We've also had a bit if positive news today after finishing in the top 4 and the introduction of Manu Vatuvei and Tyrone McCarthy will give us a timely boost and freshen up the squad.
I'm going to go 31-26 Salford, BMM MoM, Attendnace, 11,777.
All we ask for is 100% effort from minutes 1-80, come on Solly!

Also, what team would you pick?
Ian Watson said he's expecting a few players to come back into the squad for the Cup. I'd go with...
1. O'Brien 2. Vatuvei 3. Sa'u 4. Jones 5. Johnson 6. Lui (More likely to be Todd Carney) 7. Dobson (Keeps his place after the Wakey performance) 8. Tasi 9. Tomkins 10. A. Walne 11. BMM 12. Hauraki 13. Flanagan (Last game before his shoulder op)
14. McCarthy 15. Griffin 16. Koppy 17. Krasniqi (Cover for Hooker)
I honestly can't see Lui and Brinning playing any part due to injury, Mossop is miles away by the sound of things. Fingers crossed BMM isn't banned as having both him and Lui missing would be devastating, they've been by far our best two players this season.
Welham has to be dropped after last week. Gareth O'Brien has to play in this game, Evalds was not good enough on Friday night and O'Brien was one of the best players earlier in the season and has more big game experiance.
If we start that 13 we have a really good chance with 4 grafters coming off the bench.

Dixon must be Evalds`s Agent. Evalds was rank on Friday - he cannot link like GOB so if NE plays then we play down the middle. Playing down the middle v Wigan is a recipe for disaster. GOB has to be #1.

I dont like having Evalds on the wing as he cant tackle and they will just target his side. Yet i think Obriens has played terrible in his last few games.
Our last 8 games we seem to give teams leads Wakefield Hull Saints Huddersfield Leeds Castleford Leigh
so we need to start on the front foot and not get bullied in the middle. Thank god BMM inst suspended

What did Evalds do so wrong at Leigh? GOB has been found out, never takes the line on and is risky under the high ball. There were lots of bad performances at Leigh BMM was totally absent Hauraki atrocious and Carney well let's not dwell on that one. If the team cannot get themselves together for a CC semi final then I really fear for the 7 games after that.

We'll have to agree to diagree then Dixon, GOB's performances at there start of the season were brilliant and I have no idea why his form has dropped off. Maybe he's got complacent with the new contract. Although Niall is a better finisher, I think Gareth O'Brien is a more complete player. Niall has no kicking game and lack communication on the pitch. If Gaz has a good game we usually play well, I think his experiance in big games such as The World Cup Challenge will see him slightly ahead in selection for Sunday's game. Evalds doesn't deserve to be in the squad after Friday's performance, we need to shake things up as it was our worst attacking display for a very long time.

If the team cannot get themselves together for a CC semi final then I really fear for the 7 games after that. The problem is our attacking line is too flat and teams are rushing out to O'Brien and he's getting tackled nearly every time. I honestly can't believe Watson and the players haven't realised this over the last few week as early in the season we were running some really good lines. A lot of this I think has to come from O'Brien himself and Michael Dobson who hasn't played well at all since Wakefield in the Cup. They all look like they've lost any confidence they had, that's why I'm hoping the timely introduction of Tyrone and Manu woth provide dividens on Sunday. It's simple, Gareth if you're reading this, you need to come into the line around 2m further back and you'll be able to skip/play inside balls/pass to the centre more often. Food for thought.
