I`m not sure a name change or move out of the city of Salford will change anything. In my opinion the crowd will only decrease and the SALFORD fan will just say `thanks for the memories` Ok there is a hard core of local support that have been going thick & thin, good times and plenty of bad. Crowds will only come back once success has been provided. Don't get me wrong the rugby we have been playing recently has been fantastic to watch, but success is what is needed. I have always said that without Marwans intervention then a lot of us would have been sat at home or gone else where for the day and there wouldn't be a SALFORD, but attracting new fans is difficult.
From my perspective, cheaper tickets is the only way to at least get others interested whilst we wait for that success. The £20 family ticket (2 adults 2 children) is by far the best option. That means me and my 2 sons and 1 other can go for £20 quid, instead of it costing me an arm and a leg. Going watching SALFORD home and away for a family of 4 is costing me an absolute fortune and sometimes I cannot justify spending £200 plus on tickets/food/drink and travel every month, even though both my wife and I are working. I have to pick and choose and sometimes with working shifts cannot get to every game anyhow. I understand fans frustrations re the crowd, especially Michigan Red but unfortunately it is what it is. I congratulate the players in at least giving us something worth paying for and I congratulate Marwan for his continuing support and I agree if SALFORD fans want a club then they need to come out in numbers and bring a friend!
Whilst I`m harping on, we need to get into the schools more and advertise more....if we weren't in love with our SALFORD then when would you hear about it. No posters, no radio advertisement, no leaflets....nothing.
Classic example, the site advertises corporate hospitality and for the bank holiday clash v Leigh I made enquires and sent emails to the club on 3 occasions enquiring about a package (box for 12) etc. Think the cost was about £1200 ish...not 1 response...not 1. The last time I called down for my tickets, I asked to see Mr Blease in order to have an informal chat. Not available. I understand that and have no qualms in him not being available, but the receptionist took my details and mobile and said she would get him to ring me back. Guess what....nothing and that was two weeks ago. The support is 2 way and ive no doubt others have got gripes about this that and the other but I have supported this club for 45 yrs and on one hand understand the clubs frustrations but a name change is not the answer...we and they will lose genuine rugby fans and supporters of SALFORD who often sing SALFORD TILL I DIE so you cannot just wipe that from people and fans. Keep the faith, support your club and lets all try and spread the word...oh and if we are going to move, can we go back to Weaste where we belong.

A few facts;
The Doc has just said again that no decision has been made. The average attendance is up ~ 1000 on last year Even though we only had 3200 yesterday, Wakefield only brought 500, so even with all the outside competition, we had an improved Salford attendance of 2700 , up from 2100 Against Catalan, with no outside competition, we had nearly 5000
I think we need to plan our games more with the RL i.e. no games when MU play, more planning with Sky, etc. Huddersfield cancelled their game against Saints when their footy team was at Wembley. Also the club needs to engage the fans they have lots of ideas, enthusiasm and energy.
All things in life are exponential and we're on the curve and we're growing. We need to stick at it.

Another fact for you, Marwan take rubbish and lies. History shows this.
I think the name change has dropped a little from the conscious of many due to other events and our top form, but it needs to be brought right back. Without a fight this name change will happen.

Agreed - we're growing but not at the pace that Marwan wants and that's the crux of it. He needs patience!
On our season tickets, my cousin got in an extra 8 people yesterday, (I can't take any credit for it) and then the good Dr comes onto social media and criticizes the support - you're preaching to the fecking choir doc! I'm sure the ones turning up are trying their damnedest to get extras through the gates, but it's a long term thing and success will get them through the turnstiles!!!!
Oh, one of those eight came for the first time this season and is now banned from any future games. He's only seen us win once I think in the last 3 seasons, so after Sunday he's not coming back!

Had a rather interesting conversation with an ex Salford player today, he in a nutshell said that the name change idea was nothing at all to do with the Doc but it is Robbie Paul filling his head with ideas that big backers will fall over themselves to be associated with the club all of a sudden. This came from a recent media engagement where they both worked together. The player in question knows Paul rather well and said he couldn't understand his logic with regards this situation. As a matter of interest it would be very interesting if we new the name of this ex-player who knows what Robbie H Paul it talking to the owner about? We could then make our minds up as to whether to believe it or not. I am not in favour of a name change but I am interested in the people whose conversations with supposed members of staff etc appear to be at the forefront of rumours and gossip that are around at present. In my part of the West Stand yesterday all the talk was about how well the team has been playing, how Ian Watson was doing a good job,and how upset we were about losing a match that we should have had sewn up but nothing about surveys or rumours.

Sorry Cadger I disagree, that's an opinion not a fact. The Doc is not a liar. He's put millions into the club. He's been conned by many in the rugby league world but has come through it. On the rugby side he's put Tim Shhens in who picked Watson and we're moving forward. But he's disappointed and anxious with the attendances, as we all are. He's a passionate man who speaks from the heart and sometimes gets it wrong. But he's man enough to admit his mistakes. Stick with him mate, he'll get there.
But I do agree that we have to keep fighting for the name just as the Doc fights for commercial viability. Keep fighting, but try and give the man the credit he's due. Without him we'd have nothing to fight for.

I'd say it's a fact we broke salary cap when he maintained we didn't. there are a fair few things he has said which have not come to fruition We can agree to disagree on that part, personally I don't trust what he says. Be it malice or wearing heart on sleeve, I take most if not all he says with a pinch of salt. Agree with you on the rest tho

Like the smiley face mate. He's a man who doesn't do detail and you can see that with all the ideas that aren't followed through. Sadly I think he's picked another loser, money man in RHP, but only my opinion.
Yes we're all on the same side and passionate about the team, good times ahead me thinks. Inshallah as the Doc would say. 😉👹

I've just been discussing attendances with colleagues & we found this below. average Man United attendances, throughout the 1980's averaging just over 40k per game, then after a few years of winning the league it shoots up to mid to high 50's. Just confirms what we all know, patience is required and a few years of success.
2003 Champion 1 1 67.602 2002 3 1 3 67.558 2001 Champion 1 1 67.490 2000 Champion 1 1 58.014 1999 Champion 1 1 55.188 1998 2 1 2 55.168 1997 Champion 1 1 55.081 1996 Champion 1 1 41.700 1995 2 1 2 43.681 1994 Champion 1 1 44.244 1993 Champion 1 1 35.152 1992 2 1 2 44.984 1991 6 1 6 43.218 1990 13 1 13 39.077 1989 11 1 11 36.488 1988 2 1 2 39.152 1987 11 1 11 50.594 1986 4 1 4 46.321 1985 4 1 4 42.881 1984 4 1 4 42.534 1983 3 1 3 41.695 1982 3 1 3 44.571 1981 8 1 8 45.071

Think it went under the radar with many but Chris Morley put something on antisocial media Saturday saying he has been told by Blease that it is a certainty that it is Manchester Red Devils and they will play at Citys ground. Later says the RFL are pushing for the name change and relocation so you'd think if true they would help with costs of things and promotion. Ever so worried. I can't see where he said Blease told him? I thought it was a weird tweet as it was just the same ru our as last time - Manchester Red Devil's playing at City's ground. But the he said 'you heard it here first' and made out it was new info. Chris Morley has never been s fan of Loukasha d especially after the way his brother was treated. Not saying Morley is wrong but equally don't believe it any more (or less) than before he tweeted.

That many people from around the country (and the world) wanted to go that they could always fill it and the crowd grew with the team and stadium. Just have to wonder are the general public that bothered? I'm not from the area originally but have lived in Salford now for 7 years and I work in the community, and in all the years of living here and visiting patients at home I have honestly never met a Salford fan, let alone a season ticket holder. When I go to see new patients you always look for an interest to get them engaged, football is easy but RL... always gets a blank response. Even now, doing so well, people that I talk to just don't seem interested.
