Not much action on the RLfans forum so I've signed up to this forum to solely congratulate the team and more so the fans for yesterdays performance at our place, I'd go as far as saying the best away fans so far this season, I spent the majority of the match looking on enviously from the South Stand, reminded me of how we once were in the stands and on the pitch. Fantastic effort. Good Luck for the rest of the season.

Whoever said Matty Russell is ordinary needs a slap, he's a quality player and would walk into most sides in Super League.
I thought Jack Hughes' defence was absolutely abysmal on Sunday, he was at fault for atleast 3 of our tries and deserves to be dropped.
Smith to leave Wire at the end of this season and Simon Moran to throw the cheque book at D. Powell?

I don't particularly rate Russell, no doubt he has potential but positional and defensively very suspect.
That said, probably would have said similar about Greg Eden, he's done ok this season!

I don't rate Russell. Positioning is terrible in defence and all he does is run laterally up and down the defensive line very fast until he's tackled.
Agree also about Hughes, I usually enjoy watching him play but yesterday he was at fault for a number of our tries. Probably down to him playing in the centres when he's been in the pack for quite a while now.

Russell ordinary? Would have him in our squad system in a heartbeat, think that Warrington put so much on Sandow being the next big thing they have never really got over him leaving, do think that Carney might have put himself in the shop window a bit on Monday, if we don't keep him you can see Warrington being high up on the list of suitors. I'm just compiling a list of all the players you wouldn't "sign in a heartbeat" or "give your right arm to see in a Salford shirt". I've only got Greg Johnson so far. Are there any more? |

Russell must be one of the fastest players in Superleague but he's playing for a dispirited team that are still feeling sorry for themselves after losing last years challenge cup and grand final. If you played him outside Michael Shenton at Castleford he'd score a hatful just like Eden has this year.
