So a win over Leigh will take us above last year's threshold for safety .
Hull losing means that a win will take us to second place, Wigan drawing opens up some distance to those blow us.
If the lads get a win tomorrow we have had the best possible outcome.!
Dare we dream!

We just need to win by about 160 n hope Leeds do cas, be top by Monday!!
I still think this will be a tough game, Leigh are no mugs and will be well up for this. Hopefully a win by 10 n on to next weekends double header in second place.

Scrappy win but we'll take it. Lui looked tired, maybe Todd playing at least one game next weekend. And Evalds back at full back to save O'Brien further punishment.
Also good to see the Cas cheat move that they've been playing over the years, where Shenton takes out the opposing centre, get penalised after a length of the field no try. Shenton also held over the line with the ball nowhere near it trying to con the ref, didn't work; good reffing..

Great result! It wasn't our best performance of the season but we did the job and scored 6 tries against a spirited Leigh team who played very well compared to other games this season. Ben Murdoch-Masila deserves a special mention, he is the best 2nd rower I've ever seen play for Salford and without a doubt the best in Super League at the moment. If he doesn't get in the Super League Dream Team, I'll never watch the Sport again, He must be a contender for Man of Steel surely?
Looking forwards, we've got to be aiming for that top 4, especially now we've got a 4 point buffer over Wakefield and Wigan, (our points difference makes it 5 points in theory now). Hopefully we can get through next weekend unscathed without any major injures and we'll be in with a shout.
Fingers crossed now the people of Salford will notice that something really special is happening at the club this season now the Premier League has finished. We should definitely be offering United, City, Bolton and Salford City membership holders pro rata season tickets to get the AJ Bell packed. £70 for the remaining 8/9 home matches, even if only 500 people take up the offer it will get other Sports fans talking about the club, never-mind bringing in another £35,000 in revenue and who knows more if people bring their mates. Food for thought.

Personally I think the 20 points threshold for top 8 could be 22-24 this year due to every team being capable of beating each other. I'm expecting Saints and Wire to hit some form and Wakefield have 16 points already. Catalan will pick up points at home as the weather heats up.

There's ways we can increase the attendances but I feel we're failing to 'Think outside the box'. Having said that the 'Bring your mate' offer for Season Ticket holders is very good. It's adding value to the Salford ST, whereas before giving tickets away for a £5er annoyed some fans, I honestly I can see why too. Another idea I came up with was offering free season tickets to every High School kid in the City. Every kid in Salford between the ages of 11-16 is a Salford Red Devils ST holder, I mean how good would that be? Of course not everyone would go, but I know there would be a lot who would! 5 years of watching Salford would get the kids hooked! As soon as they hit college they get students rates and we can build a strong young and passionate fan base moving forward. We've got a team to be proud of now, there's a lot of passionate Salfordians out there that aren't actually regular Salford goers, maybe this could change things? Thoughts?

That's far to logical! To be fair, aren't under 17 season tickets free now anyway? I might be wrong
In terms of the game, a wins a win. Nowt special need to up it next weekend and as has been said mix it up player wise
Anyone else thinking we could actually win something this year? In dreamland!!

Just watched the highlights back and spotted something I didn't during the game, Leigh went in twice with the knees when we were scoring, dirty very very dirty.
Not given him enough credit before but Welham is a classy centre in the Gleeson style, not a bullocking type that seems to be the norm now but a throwback to centres who use guile more.

If you read some of the Leigh views they were absolutely robbed by some diabolical refereeing.

I thought we ground out the victory yesterday like we did when we played them earlier in the season. Leigh aren't as bad as their League position suggests and I think they will be OK if they end up in the Middle 8's.
In previous seasons I think we would have crumbled after being down early on in the game, but this team is made of sterner stuff.

In previous seasons I think we would have crumbled after being down early on in the game, but this team is made of sterner stuff. I think our game is based more around discipline, power, strength and stamina over agility, skill, speed and risk taking. Yes we have the ability to breakdown our opponents out wide but it's the arm wrestles we are fronting up to that provides the platform. It may not be highly entertaining to watch for most parts but it's effective. We have a few big and mobile players now who can really sap the energy out of our opponents.

The last 2 games now we've had to come from behind. Shows great self belief in the team but we can't afford to be giving too many other teams 6-12 point starts. One thing that stood out for me so far is how we keep a cool head when calls go against us. Everyone just seems to accept it and carry on. Great character shown.
