So, just to reiterate, the club are not saying they are definitely changing their name. However, ‘nothing’s off the table,’ and where there is a possibility, we have to treat it as a possibility.

So why is RHP, ex CEO of an RL club, 3x in administration and then, in liquidation, suddenly our guru and the decision maker? Consultants, good or bad, are not decision makers. The only people who should make statements to the press of this magnitude are the CEO or the Chairman.
Shows his lack of awareness and professionalism. Even his commentating leaves a lot to be desired.

FWIW I think it's all a ploy/scare tactic to get the fans through the turnstiles, I hope it works.

I’ve been thinking more about this during my dinner. If this episode is a ruse by the club to stir up emotions, generate publicity and get more people through the gates, then surely, the net result is agreeable to us all. I’d rather be one of the gullible fucks duped by it than somebody who sat back and enjoyed the last few games of a decent Salford side but forever ruing the decision to dismiss it as bollocks. It was a thought that came into my mind recently. We obviously want to oppose the rebranding / name change / move etc but the last thing we want to do is derail our season. The boys on the field have been outstanding this year by showing the passion we as fans would have if we had the ability to pull on a Salford Shirt. Maybe we can use the clubs offer for the Catalans & Wakefield games, which I commend, to drag in a few more supporters through the gates. Let's face it we all know a few lapsed fans who can't be bothered, or people that have commented recently on how well we're doing. The more we can get through the gates to support the boys in red the more it will help our cause

Hopefully not Dixon. I think the present brand name is Red Devil's, he quietly dropped the Salford to try and capture a wider audience. However when stickers were made people confused the Red Devil's with MU. This was raised at one of his meetings and then Salford Red Devil's appeared by magic.
So my simple logic is, he's tried it and it's failed.
Anybody who knows anything about branding will tell, don't confuse your customers. Manchester Red Devil's wouldn't need much research, even from RHP to see that it means MU.
I just hope I'm more right than you mate.
