In case anyone isn't aware, there is a fans meeting tomorrow night at the dog and partridge in Eccles to discuss the future of the club. I am hoping to make it depending on when I get home, hopefully a decent cross section of fans do turn up. Now is not a time for fighting amongst ourselves, we all want a successful Salford, and the majority of us want the name stay the same. I appreciate some are going about this in way which others don't agree with, but that's the reason this meeting is important. I would say doing nothing isn't really an option, we need to stick together. Some think this name change definitely won't happen, I really hope you are right, but something definitely isn't right at the moment and to wait and see will be too late. Just as a matter of interest who has organised the meeting? |

How about us Salford fans , just renaming the club ourselves.  ?? And calling ourselves. SALFORD RLFC. Lets get back to our origins. We already have Salfordware. lets support these lads, buy scarfs, t/shirts/ polo shirts. And if the name does get changed next season, and the club does new shirts with you know what on them ,Boycott the shirt , don,t but it , and buy one from salfordware, A Replica of the 69 with the S on one side of the breast and the Salford badge on the other will do for me. And no i have nothing what so ever to do with Salfordware. SALFORD RLFC TILL I DIE. |

I've also been thinking along those lines, if they do change the name still attend games and support the lads but boycott all manchester merchandise and continue wearing Salford colours and refer to ourselves at Salford. |

If any one on here is still scared about the name change how about quickly registering a patent for Manchester Red Devils? That way the club won't legally be able to change the name.
I honestly don't believe for a second it will happen.

Was upset to see certain fans marching over to the area where the flag was tied up on Friday and kicking off about it, surprised as the individuals involved are Salford lads so why they do not agree with it I'll never know.
Don't get this club at times, should be on a real high right now but the club is doing it's best to ruin that as per usual.

It was my flag and he didn't come marching to have a go at the flag as such. It was something or nothing (see my post on the other topic), but me being a hot head there was no way I was taking someone marching over to me and getting my face like that. |

The flag was mentioned in his anger, but that wasn't the cause of him to come over in the first place. Anyway, mountains out of mole hills come to mind and I'll be there at the meeting this evening. |

Surely Blease should be at this, would be easy to put incorrect rumours to bed and give further details on other things.
Can see this getting very heated.
I did have an idea, if it comes out the rumours are correct then season ticket holders should attend the Catalan home game but not go in, pretty sure you'd get a gate of less than 500, would help show who will be missing if we decamp to Manchester.

I think we need to be very careful that we don't derail what could be a monumental season. All this unrest will, if we are not careful affect the players and coaching staff and could impact massively on results. Whether the club pay lip service to the online poll, or take us seriously, we need to think very carefully, before decisions are made.Should the owner decide to change our name, then for me we continue supporting our club Salford, by wearing our colours and singing our songs.We are SALFORD and to my mind always will be. Let's not see 140 years of history thrown away.
