Salford 19 the same as last week, so presumably the same 17.
Couple of major shocks in the Leigh squad: Hock is suspended and Paterson injured.

Not taking anything for granted but we have to win this one with Leigh's injuries/suspensions and the relative form of both sides.
Salford are 1/7 with the bookies and -16 on the handicap (Leigh get a 16pt start). Hopefully we can prove the bookies right, snaffle the 2 points and head to the South of France confident, injury free and ready to turn over the Frenchies.☺
I really hope our so-called "floating support" get off their ar$es for this one and we see a bumper crowd. Some Leigh fans may decide to swerve the game as they fear a hammering on their board so we can't rely on the usual 5k Leythers to make the short trip down the Lancs.😉 Would have thought £10 tickets for adults for this game may have enticed a few more and hopefully the club have given some tickets away to local schools for the East stand. Just no horns please!!

Think tomorrow will see our biggest home crowd at Barton, sadly I also expect the stadium bods to make a balls up of it somehow on the day.
I'm bring my Uncle who I think last attended a Salford game when we got beaten by Sheffield in the CC semi final at Leeds (hope he isn't a bad luck charm) and another friend who picks and chooses his games very sparingly.
The club need to box clever tomorrow and make a concerted effort to get as many peoples contact details as possible and keep targeting them for future games. Get say 5 signed shirts and have academy players going round gathering names for a draw, get face painters everywhere for the kids. Just for once Salford don't be 'nearly' but get everything right as the wave of optimism in the area is huge right now.
As for the game itself I doubt it will end up 13 V 13 and that there will be more than a few outbreaks of handbags on the pitch. Leigh will try to do what we did to Saints at home last year and start off like a house on fire and get into our faces, a few early deep kicks to turn them around and no silly penalties should do for them. Can see it being close till half time and our superior fitness and more youthful mobile pack will take control in the 2nd half allowing Carney to run riot.

We will be adding an additional 8 to our usual journey from Chorley. Not sure if it's the improvement on the field or the arrangements of post match beers in Eccles, something we've not done as a group for about 20 plus years.

Apparently Leigh have sold a thousand advance tickets so not sure how many more we can expect as walk ups. If the rain arrives we may only be looking at 1500 or so in the away end so the onus really is on our lot to show up in numbers. We can't really on 2000/2500 away fans every week to boost the crowd.

Never in doubt, was it? 😄
We weren't at the races today but a wins a win. I thought Leigh had done their homework on us pretty well but we were just a shade better than them.
The penalty count needs to be reduced. Granted, the conditions played their part but there were too many basic errors for my liking. Perhaps I'm asking too much, after all we are 2nd in the League!

Cracking day out.
I brought along a lad today who couldn't be more Salford if he tried but doesn't come that often. He hit the nail on the head when he said that use (him) from Salford are incredibly perocuial, we all identify as being Salfordians long before we are Mancs. So there just needs to be a huge push by the club to promote the City.
Success breads success so today will have helped, we need to ensure that the CITY (not the club but the city) embraces the this success and promotes what is happening going forward.
Got the game I expected in the conditions today, well deserved win, can anyone explain what happened to Todd Carney? (was expecting him to run the show) and say if Justin C is injured (he looks shot), some of the hits from the forwards were immense, think though if we would have got Stewart to sign for us our pack would have been untouchable.

This is the type of headline I've dreamt about from Salford for so many years on the BBC, no Doc sprouting off just so many positives.
"Salford Red Devils made it five Super League wins in a row with a hard-fought derby win against Leigh Centurions"

Thought the fella in the yellow shirt for Leigh, was their man of the Match today. Was doing a really good enthusiastic coaching job for Leigh just behind their line. Must of been on the field for most of the game
