Phew! Gasp! And YES! This was always the banana skin. Too many people with something to prove and a team that responds well against SRD. Just how many wins are we away from guaranteed top 8, any idea? |

Not sure russ but last season 20 points was enough for 8th spot, in which case we're only 3 wins away with 13 games remaining. |

A win is a win,definitely,and the highlights are few.
Hung in there and defended like Trojans.
Two monster high kicks caught brilliantly by GOB and Johnson,using a different technique so not just luck.
I just want to say that the ref,Smith,has been over promoted. Said it before the game. Didn't let the game flow. He always looks decisive but that's no substitute for correct decisions. It turned into a dropathon but he had consistently interrupted play.
And why he didn't sort out the so called water carriers,or stop the clock when they were fannying around,was incredible.

RFL pushed him, ex marine served in Afghanistan. RFL thought it would make good publicity, he needed a longer run in the lower divisions |

Given the weather conditions and the likelihood that the game would therefore be a low scoring arm wrestle, I don't think having three props on the bench was a bad thing. The great thing about the game was that they showed they could win attritional games too. It involved a different style of play - more emphasis on the forwards and more of the little kicks behind the Leigh line, particularly from Michael Dobson - but it showed they could do it. Gregg McNally has been cited for a grade C for pushing the referee out of the way. If you can get a two match ban for being walked into by a ref, then McNally will be lucky to escape without being publicly executed and fed to the crows. Ridiculous. |
