I personally would keep the forwards and bench as strong as possible and have JJ in the back row and for back cover if required during a game.
Not a bad bench when all back fit, stronger than anything we've had in the past; Brinning / Tomkins Tasi Huaraki Mossop
We brought in a specialised centre with a great attacking ability surely we have to give him a go? As EB mentioned mix up the back line to spread the strengths defensively and we may also see more from Carney in attack. I know we're only one game in but I still stand by the below for hudders; Carney Welham Sau Evalds

I thought there were a lot of positives afterall we were playing the champions. Dobbi, koppy, mossop & brining went well. Only gripe i had was the right edge it was really exposed. At one point we had wood, evalds & johnson v farrell, gildart & burgess, in which they scored 2-3 tries. Next game Hudds is massive i hear Tomkins is back so straight swap for wood as he looked out of his depth yesterday!

I do think Jones offers more from the backrow then he does at centre so id swap Johnson for Whelham and Tomkins in for Wood.

Shame it took forty minutes for us to find our feet. I think Watson will be banging-on about carrying our second half performance forward into the first half of the next game. We'll need to, as Hudds wont be wanting to spoil their decent start by slipping-up at home.

I'd be surprised if Evalds isn't in the centres and Johnson on the wing, Evalds just has that knack of being in the right place at the right time. I'd make sure Carney and Evalds are on one side and Sa'u Johnson the other as then you have pace, brawn and an eye for the line on both flanks rather than Wigan running all they've got at Johnson and Evalds on one side. I'd also doubt both Kopczak & Mossop will start, more Kopczak and Griffin to be replaced by Mossop and Tasi with Krasniqi used as bench cover for the front and back row. Although I was happy with the overall performance Evalds & Johnson were badly exposed in the first half. Looking at yesterday game we desperately need a quality centre to replace Josh Griffin.

Personally I thought the scoreboard didn't really reflect the balance of play in the first half. Two very good scoring opportunities were neutralised by Wigan with foul play which was weakly punished by the referee giving only the minimum of a penalty. One or both of those incidents should have been dealt with a sin-binning.
There were two other good opportunities where the passes to Carney weren't the best. The first he had to juggle with which meant he was a little off balance making the tackle easy for the defence. The second was an absolute shocker which was high over his shoulder and went into touch.
Second half we had more than enough field position and chances to have come back from that deficit but some of the execution in Wigan's 20m was poor and possession was squandered early in the tackle count enabling them to relieve the pressure.
I really wish someone could get the stupid penalty out of Adam Walne's game. Once again he went for the needless extra effort which gave away a penalty on 4th or 5th tackle to put Wigan right on attack from which they scored.

I couldn't have put it better myself and I would also add that I saw a different interpretation of some of the new rules from Ben Thaler and his officials compared with the Thursday,Friday and Saturday games especially around the play the ball area and the offside/ on side positions.

Perhaps Thaler missed the seminar on the new rules. On the way to game a referee explained the new rules. Friday night Hemmings explained them. Thaler only applied them after half time. Consistency is all the is required. Two further points, O'Loughlin seemed to be forever whinging to Thaler and whenever Wigan were not allowed to immediately get up all the arms went up & they shouted at Thaler. Strong consistent refs are required in RL.

I think we need a real vocal forward on the park, someone who can do the same and bitch about everything and see what we can eek out of the refs.

Personally thought Lui had a quiet game..Dobson was doing most of the organising..was really hoping after some injury/fitness problems last season Lui would push on this year?..He looked like a real star against Saints at home last season..noticed the bandage wasn't around his knee yesterday but didn't seem to have a lot of zip in his play ..early days yet ...so we will see how things transpire but if and when Carney arrives it will definitely benefit to have some competition in halves.

Very average yesterday. Thought we looked rubbish ball in hand and bar juniors try we scored off errors. Evalds and Johnson is a bad combination with no size. Wood is getting a hard time but my god he can't half deliver a good ball from acting half. Thought Brinning looked good with ball in hand but threw some toss to Dobbo and Lui which needs work. Mossop looked good but Tasi was lazy and blowing very early. Koppy and junior were superb mind.

Disagree, Tasi first time round was a good hard running prop, he did though need to stop trying to make every tackle a show stopper.
Think on Saturday he didn't run the ball in as hard, more than happy to give him the benefit of the doubt that when he gets back in the swing of things he will be a real asset to the team once again.

But not trouble. The difference in this instance is that you can't argue its truth. Tasi was lazy and blowing hard. People tend to disagree with your points because often they are based on nothing but what you feel, which in most instances is nearly always negative. Nothing wrong with having a negative view on something if you can back up your opinion with more than just negativity for negativity sake, or 'feeling'. That's the idea of a forum. Discussion rather than baseless statement. You might want to try this instead of playing the martyr.

If Tasi was any good he would still be at Saints you know that and so does everyone else if they are honest. We were 26 points behind at the break, and Wigan eased up,it was their for all to see.You agree with that dont you.We weren't expected to win Huddsfield will be with us in the bottom four according to the bookies so a must win Thursday.
