Get more players sell more tickets 🤷♂️ Sorry but that's not my definition of a "fan" as I've said before on here. You back your team regardless. Feel free to disagree but those 'fans" waiting to see if we start the season well before they buy aren't proper fans IMO. You can bet they'll be the first to be mouthing off on social media from their armchairs though when things ain't going well...🙄 Other people may have different priorities and financial reasons but doesn’t make them less of a fan just less disposable income Maybe it’s a bridge too far after squad builders , season tickets , away tickets and buying shares for some people - especially after we’re no longer a selling club then Dupree goes to secure the future of the team only to then have Ackers and Croft go the same way Loyalty is a two way street and some people’s breaking points may be earlier than others I’m not anti-board or pro-board but some decisions can be open to question- why offer Croft 8 years ( I know it’s only 3 in reality ) then sell him the next winter , if it was to raise publicity and generate more season ticket sales then I get it but then you can’t complain when after selling him the season ticket sales drop - it’s just the other side of the same coin

This scheduling does nothing to encourage fans BTW. Which fuckwit decided that 8 potential clashes with Saturday football matches would be a good idea? I know Utd & City often play Sunday/Monday but Fri night/Sun PM should always be RL slots for me.
R3 – Hull KR (H) Sat 2/3, 5:30pm.
R6 – Leigh (H) Sat 30/3, 5:30pm
R9 – Warrington (H) Sat 27/4, 3pm
R20 – Leeds (H) Sat 3/8
R21 – Saints (A) Sat 10/8
R23 – Huddersfield (H) Sat 24/8
R25 – Catalans (H) Sat 7/9
R26 – Hull FC (A) Sat 14/9

It's those folk who'll be sitting in a pub/at home watching the games that are the issue.

I agree to a point it I also think that if we made it more appealing by the players on the pitch it may convince a few of the 50/50 fans to buy a ST - keeping Croft and Ackers ( forget Sio and Burgess as not a controllable ) would make Salford more appealing

It would but we all know why we had to let Brodie go and that wouldn't have happened if the stadium was sorted and we had the matched funding/match day revenue we were expecting. Ackers may have gone regardless as seems like.he wanted to move.

Fear for our attendances next season I really do

This isn't a rumours thread anymore, can we get back on topic, make a rumour I've heard that too but I wasn't sure if it was guesswork, supposition or conjecture.
The font of all this kind of information is Total Rubbish & Lunacy I should try there under "Salford in trouble again " about 400 times!

Melbourne Storm are supposedly about to offer Aaron Pene to SL clubs for 2024. Would he be worth a punt or is he a bit pasta it?

I saw that yesterday, he's been linked with Wakefield, but looks like he'd fit the bill for us.
But, as Pete said earlier in the thread, no money means no players, so we're in a holding pattern. I think it's smart for the club to save some pennies right now.
Theoretically, I know Sio and Burgess have gone and we've brought in Hankinson, so there should be a reasonable amount of wages available there, but I think it's better to bide our time and make that monthly saving, then explore the loan market.
Besides, realistically, who could we possibly sign right now but that will put bums on seats and get people excited anyway?
We have a decent 17, on paper, and an excellent coach, and I'm sure there is extra motivation to prove people wrong. Let's hope we stay clear of injuries early in the year and wait on the stadium deal.
1) Save what we can now and keep the squad we have. 2) Explore the short-term loan market at the start of the season if Rowley thinks we need it or in response to injuries. 3) Wait for the stadium deal to go through, hopefully in a couple of months. 4a) Assuming the deal goes through we can apply for the matched funding - essential to any five year plan (it's this that gives us the hope of growth and a longterm future without a benefactor) 4b) Focus on long-term, year long loans, and work to identify players who will help us in 2025 and beyond, if those players can be brought in this year then great.
