Watching Saints game and heard it mentioned that Will Hopoate was leaving them. He is a very accomplished full back so would mean moving Brierley back to stand off alongside Sneyd.
Another off contract lad is Ryan Hampshire who on his day is real quality and again offers a utility value in 1,6 and 7.

If Addy Gerrard and Croft go we have 19 + 3 in and a 19 year old lad from Leeds inc Dixon and Sidlow. I’m sure Bleasy will be waving his magic wand and doing ‘we’re in the mire deals’

I doubt that we'll be in the market for signings for a while. We don’t have a choice it’s all well and good balancing the books but having 19 players would be embarrassing and we’d deserve to be kicked out the league. No doubt we will be making moves |

The Boards statement suggests that getting rid of players is a priority.
Any player thinking of joining SRD will no doubt be made aware of the situation and some won't even bothe.
Only season long loans of decent players will help but, if they're on loan, are they worth the effort? Recent inclusions would say not.

The statement clearly says that signings and extensions have been made to the budget that we we told we had. I.e 1.5m in funding! Obviously this has now been reduced by circa 300k meaning there is a hole left to fill! We fill that with the croft sale and hey presto we are better off and can make more signings that we already have made with the saving on the croft salary! It’s not all doom and gloom! Signings have already been made |

Doesn't quite work like that. We need to find that £300k evey year, not just this year, so we can't just sign more players, unless we cut spend elsewhere. Plus, nobody is paying us 300k for Croft when they know we have to sell and there isn't exactly a bidding war going on. It isn't a silver bullet... it's a band aid for cash flow in the immediate.

We can downsize as much as we want but ultimately it’s a result based business not a yard sale. If we get rid of to many good plays and replace them with crap we’d go down and I generally believe we won’t come back up |

The hole is this year mainly because of signings and contract extensions. Next year the budget will be knows so will be accounted for! The hole exists because we were told we were getting x and the at changed to y after all contracts and players were signed! |
