Well, maybe those rumours, if they were that, about Byrne is true. Wigan have signed Thompson, they signed Dupree, have Havard under contract, and extended Ellis, Mago, and Cooper. Plus have Hill and Nsemba in the wings. Thompson is done, Wigan have 8 Props. I am hearing JJR has been sent in to get young Hill on Loan. I reckon Bryne may also be on the cards as they have a Cap to fit within. |

Yeah it was. Reading this had me thinking though, just because they offer doesn't mean he'll accept. Players don't just chase the money, it will be a family decision based on lots of other factors. It might not make any bit of difference, but the presumption that players automatically will move on can be a false one. What worries me at our club is that the playing side say one thing but the back end do another. If Croft goes I'm not sure PR will continue to try and build when the off-field stuff keeps digging at the foundations. |

It's true and one thing is that Brodie seems very happy and content at SRD and he knows how bad it can get at work.
Yes the two different outlooks whatever the reasons are neither a good look nor helpful for developing a side that gets stronger with each succesive season, which is a target for all clubs.

So Harvey Hill on a loan deal, McDonald to cover wing or centre, possibly Byrne as a Prop that is not bad. Austin sometimes looks fantastic then at other times looks poor. I'd rather have him then Cust, of course he is not as good as Croft in terms of line breaks but does have a better long kick up field which was missed this season. I'd be happy with Austin for a year if we cash in on Brodie.

I believe the Leeds contract won’t let Brodie have an NRL get out clause so could be a sticking point .

I don't think Croft is interested in playing at another SL club, and I hope an NRL side come in and nab him. I'm not sure how everything sits if a club is forced to sell for financial reasons but a player isn't interested in moving? Not an ideal affair for the player or the club that buys him. |

I'd love us to be able to keep Brodie. I think BDB mentioned offloading 3/4 of the older players in order to free up wages rather than recouping lost income via getting rid of a player that loves the club and would likely only want to leave for an NRL team if they came calling. I mean, would it hurt us to bin off Addy, Dixon & Sidlow from a playing point of view for starters and just promote 3 of the reserves? (who are likely to play about as much as the other 3 have anyway!). Ok so that's not £300k but it would be a decent start. |
