Not going to get into picking out players good or bad.
Even though we don't need to fear anyone, the odds now favour this season has only one match left for us. So I plan to enjoy every last second no matter what happens!

I thought the young lads did themselves proud last night in a game that was never winnable for them. No shame in the score as Wigan have put forty plus past full strength teams. I was also impressed by some of their efforts and performances, and what can I say about the loyal away supporters? They were magnificent.
Boiling the p1ss of HKR fans is just a bonus at this stage, and boy, are they ripe for taking the bait.

Be good to have some more info on the younger lads who played last night; there’s only a little note in the Reserves Sauad
Possibly good basis for the A Team next year
Pleased Sidlow managed his 150th SL game
But CM (or CW😉) 3 good young props on show

Pretty sure it's been confirmed somewhere Sidlow is off to Oldham but I could be making that up from something I've overheard.🤷♂️
Think the young lads did well last night all things considered. Most of them clearly not ready for the step up to SL but 2 or 3 might be able to make the jump next year with some time out on loan and more exposure to the 1st team environment. Pye is the obvious choice as he's been around the 1st team a while now. With the right conditioning and attitude he could be a good 'un.
Bardyel-Wells could be a real find though. I believe the story is he's a Wythenshawe lad who has come through the age groups at Saints and played a few reserves games there last year. Someone at Saints was picking him up and dropping him off for training/matches but they decided it was too much hassle in the end and let him go.
Think he used to play on the wing but was shifted to the pack and he obviously enjoys the physical side of the game.
Really excited to see how he progresses over the next 12-18 months.
Oh and I think we saw last night why Kai Morgan hasn't yet been blooded. He's obviously rated by the club but physically he's nowhere near ready for SL. Bit more loan time and bulking up during the off season and hopefully we'll see if he can step into Sneydy's shoes at times next year to help the old fella out.🙂

The result is what it was always going to be,but the kids now know what's required to play at the top level. A big shout out for those who went last night you did the team proud.

I`d give Sidlow another year but....................only on a Pay and Play basis. I read an interview with him recently. He stated he was no longer able to keep up at Superleage level. Also said he would like one last chance to play before the end of the season - which he got.

Problem with bardyel is he’s off to university in Northampton soon wants to get a career outside rugby from what the reserves coach has said!unless people can talk him out of it he won’t be at Salford next year!

Northampton a fairly new Uni…about 20 yrs
Because of our links with Salford Uni might there be a course there…maybe of higher standing
What degree is he intending to do?
We as a City are now supposed to be looking at education and integration with sport etc and it’d be a great story. Degree at the Uni and professional RL player at the Club

That is a shame, he was outstanding, Pye looked goods and a few of the 2nd Rowers looked lively. Connell did well covering back, he was kicked to lots, the other winger shot off his line too much. Would like to see Connell at 1 in Pre-Season. Morgan is an interesting one, his kicking is excellent however he's not got the physicality for Super League yet. I hope he gets loaned out next year to gain more experience. All in all positive to see the Reserves get a chance and to know Cust is on his bike soon.

Not sure what he’s studying but it was an interview the reserve coach did after we played Bradford bulls and they were asking about his progress to play for Salford think it’s a good point about Salford uni hopefully we have recognised his real potential his leg driving was excellent!

I thought Paul Rowley's comment before the game was very astute with regards the Concussion Protocols and the number of games a player can play in during the season. He remarked jokingly most of his squad will not be able to start next season. And, there is the problem with the protocols. Side's like Salford put out last night could be a reality more often under the protocols for those with smaller squads whom cannot afford to leave key players out.
