What a shame SRD desrved a much closer run thing at worst. And I think people need to stop scrambling around for who to blame. Give over. You don't think the players are to responsible for those last 10 minutes? It isn't blame, it's identifying areas we need to onprove. We were awesome for 70 minutes. Then lost our cool and composure as soon as they went down to 12. We did the same against Saints and that is something hat a professional sports team needs to accept, look at, and fix. Passing the ball to Atkin and being tackled on the last play when we had momentum. The ball should have gone on the ground which has been causing them problems. Getting tackled and dragged back over the line is poor. It had happened earlier and you need to be aware. Run the ball out and dive down towards their legs. Yes, the ref will call surrender and they can hold you down longer. So what? We're winning and we want the clock to run. Kicking the drop out short. Shocking decision given the circumstance. We're winning. Wigan were down to 12 men and we had been defending well. Get he ball as far away from the line as possible. Offisde at the KO. This is just unforgivable. That was out final hope of getting back possession of the ball. We were class for 70 minutes. Hardly put a foot wrong. There are loads of positives. The effort was immense, especially given some players weren't at 100% and we had players out injured. We've clearly worked on our discipline too. And, at times we look dangerous against a top defence. Plus lots of other great things... but that doesn't hide the discussion about the final 10 minutes or how we have responded to teams going down to 12 men the past two weeks. Objectively that is something the team must work on. We threw that away in the final 10. Also, more constructive criticism, we should look at how Wigan defend their edges and replicate it rather than rushing out and leaving space. Our squad it took tin to challenge for the GF. But, given how we've played this year, if we fix up that edge defence and play smarter situationally we could have a real punt at the CC and get a trophy.

Not many teams will give Wigan a game like that this season, look at there squad tonight, cost god knows how much more than ours and we where the better side, like stated above wigans defence was outstanding and stopped us numerous times, Salford are going shock a few more teams this season and just wait till we have all our team fit, onwards and upwards

Wow!
Hopefully we don’t have a hangover from that 5 minutes. We’ve played 4 teams who you’d argue should be in the top half this year and we’ve matched them.

For all the angst about the last couple of plays I have to say we were magnificent in the circumstances. I expected a bit of a hiding but were right in it until the last.A couple of 50/50 decisions at the end didn't go our way.The fact is they have the kind of players who can be awful for 78mins and then do what French did. If we can get our best 13 out on a regular basis and play with the same discipline we can make the play offs.

Win some lose some if the plan worked we would be singing his praises and painting the town red
We pushed a fresh well rested wigan side all the way and kept their big boys quite all match … proud of the boys no matter what pick ourselves up and move on to the next game
But as our old coach said alot we can learn from this and I hope we do learn from this
Also 6 thousand on a Thursday absolutely outstanding from both clubs

To quote the great Peter Sterling, " that was one of the dumbest plays I've ever seen"
We've absolutely chucked that away, how with 4 minutes left and just having to hoof it up field and defend ,do we do a short kick off? Absolutely baffled! Wigan must be laughing all the way home after that get out of jail. I see we are still lacking some brain power then when it comes to closing out goes and playing the sensible way.
76 mind of gr8 rugby and looking like the winning team with momentum. Then we do that, fuming.

Only kick he's got wrong so far this season, yeah this is going hurt for a couple of days, but we've outplayed the best team in the world who where full strength, and we had numerous players missing, PROUD NO MATTER WHAT

Hard one to take that. We had no right to stay in that yet we should have won if we played smarter. Dudson was good. Nofa and Ryan looked rusty which they would we just need bodies back and maybe another prop and we’re good

In my opinion we should have taken the 2 on offer under the sticks, otherwise I thought we performed well.

5 new faces in the team, half the pack missing, brilliant performance; In fact amazing.
Kendall, beyond me as ever…not sure what 6 again is or a penalty try…at least let the video ref have a look
How Rowley got that performance from a rag tag and bobtail team, put together at the last minute against Wigans first choice is beyond me; fantastic…well done
Dixon predicted it…Kendall ref, why bother

He doesn't need people to put the boot in (which no doubt some fans will be doing on SM right now). I'd prefer to focus on a magnificent performance from the whole squad. That was tremendous for 95% of the game and I can't give the players out there enough credit. I'm actually more pissed off with the fans that streamed out on the final whistle instead of standing and giving the players the praise they deserved. I'll maybe have more to say tomorrow but tonight I refuse to go to bed depressed after that effort.👏👏👏
