Don’t think it’s been in doubt there will be an interim deal, it’s just normal practice. And indeed that th3 ground will be owned by the Council. Doing a deal is easy…doing the right deal is the issue….balancing being a ratepayer and a supporter. I really do think the council are extremely brave Transformational? Ummm, moving in a normal direction for me; nothing to over egg..

It would be normal to roll over a lease on the same terms but this is not the case here. If the reports are true we will have access to revenue streams that we have not had access to for 10 years. If that is the way this ends up then almost all fans would consider that, by any definition, to be transformational and that bodes well should the council ultimately buy the stadium. If this comes off maybe, just once, you can credit the club for steering us through troubled waters and acknowledge that they have done a fabulous job doing so

Hold your horses Pete, it’s the Council that’s taking the massive risk. We shouldn’t be in this dire position but we are and the Council will help us find a way out of it.
Like you I hope and somewhat expect that we’ll come though it, but the contract has to be right and we have to deliver…a long way to go yet.

I knew you’d get up there ev3ntually Russ 😉 Now far be it from me to disrupt the legend of his own postings but I was only concerned for your welfare when someone agreed with you on here!
So PK said something good on twits but no one on here thought it might be of enough interest to the people on Devil Talk to even give the main points!!!!!!
No wonder it's like a Waiting for Godot forum at times.

We’re in the lifeboat Russ, searching for land, but the Council’s got the helicopter up JJR will you ever give this board any credit? There seems to be a big point of difference between you and Salford 1963. The council are helping provide a pathway for the Club but Paul King and Oli Randell are pivotal to any outcomes, its not luck if we are given a new lease and it is a better deal. Salford 1963 claims we are on the cusp of something potentially transformative, I hope he is correct.

You only have to read the words of our MD to appreciate that what is happening now is the best news we have had since we moved to the Salford Stadium. I describe it as transformational because if it comes off in our favour then it is….Salford club chairman Paul King: "It’s a pretty big step in the right direction. There’s a real air of positivity.” “It’s a matter of seeing it through. There’s a real sense of willingness and cooperation. The next couple of months will be a challenge, our fans need to support us.”

I say ignore the Doomsayers on here. It’s important that those fans that have not bought their Season Tickets because they were unsure of our future need to get them bought ASAP because our club is fast moving towards a secure future.

It's as well to remind people who call fans doom mongers that it was the club and board that started all this talk of a closing down sale, so it's as well not to be putting them on the holier than thou pedastel quite so much.
