salfordreddevils.net/club-statement-21-11-24/So the SL club chairs will decide on bridging the ‘cash flow problem’ with an advance on the TV monies this Monday. Christmas come early or a long and cold ‘Winters Tale?’ Couple of points. 💣You wonder how this story arose? IMO pretty easy to work out that said ‘journalist’ was tipped off by a (Yorkshire probably) club official who takes the opportunity to press his cynicism and produce an apparent figure of £500,000. Your guess who and why? 💣Nevertheless disappointing that us supporters find this out by a ‘leak.’ The club desperately needs to be proactive and media cute. If not honest with us. 💣IMO very disappointed that the obvious Yuletide ‘cash flow’ bad ice hole has happened again. Very poor form. Is there a plan? What about the negative reputational impact. Questions will be asked? 💣Let me get this right. The fans shareholders monies lies awaiting as part of various Government grant applications. Or has it been spent? The last point is a good question I'd assume most of the monies raised have been spent on various investments. I get the Club are asking for advanced funding to plug the gap until January. The club are suggesting again they have been forced into this as a result of the Stadium delay and inadequate commercial performances. The whole saga is disappointing, there is a lack of transparency and that is a problem IMO the jurisdiction of the CBS is meaningless in holding the Clubs Ops board to account.

I think there is a complete misunderstanding from some on here re what should be in the public domain ie to us a "shareholders".
No company can come out and reveal their every day work.If you look at other "Community/fan owned/run" clubs in the past ie Bournemouth in football for example they can't and didn't release every little bit of what happens at the club on a weekly/monthly basis. It's the expectation of the madhouse. You can't expect to know what is going on in the background all the time. What the Club does in generally releasing measured statements and responses is standard practice for any organisation.Just because we are shareholders doesn't mean we should know everything including Paul King's shoe size. I think it was stated when the Stadium "agreement" was announced that we had several commercial deals set inc. Shirt sponsorship once it was all signed off. Obviously the delay in stadium sign off has been far longer than expected added to by politicking by certain parties, just for the sake of it.Let's hope that the current situation is a kick up the backside for the bureaucrats to get this deal done.

Indeed fella. Just to vindicate your post.
I am a member of FC United.
The club management makes the finances available to members.
However these are general.
Second there are some very strict instructions on ensuring this remains just for members and not the general public.
No reason why SRD should not be so.
And whilst I’d prefer SRD to be a wholly supporter owned venture, I think realistically Salford is a supporter, King et al and City council concern.
Those council loans are more like investments. Just like Uncle Gary, granddaddy Ken and cousin Deggsy are “lending” to their clubs.

Just read an article where the clubs are questioning why we signed players knowing we have no money and it’s a fair comment

The difference in tone between the Aaron Bower article and this Matt Shaw one is quite something.

If the Yorkshire Post article is true, it is shameful that supporters have been led down the garden path, these sums of money are an embarrassment to the good name of our club and the supporters, its time to say thanks for the memories but its time to wrap it up and say goodbye. My initial thoughts when it came out was that this was just a small amount of money, but i was equally upset that this was not put to the so called owners and probably we would rally around and put the money together ourselves instead of going cap in hand to other clubs but £500,000 thats a ridiculous amount. So Mr King lets just wrap it up, let Mr Dennet knock the ground down and build Angela Rayners 2000 houses on it. Perhaps the RFL can get a super League team in Ghana along with other pie in the sky soundbites. Just one piece of advice to Mr King, never trust politicians Sorry for being negative.

That article.
Shawly erm not journalism. Perhaps client journalism, maybe clickbaitery opinion.
Fella, Shawly they did not teach you a remotely professional journalist double checks his story by speaking to the concerning people before submitting your copy. Maybe not perhaps.
In my opinion never shaw, erm, how verifiable any story with an anonymous source is that reliable.
Seems though the mystery chair wants SRD to sell their players (most likely to their clubs on the cheap), that Solly are akin to the Titanic and that basically Paul King is lying. Erm.
As a reader, I’d find it better if reporters queried, challenged SRD club officials and Salford city council bureaucrats on how this has happened.
But hey that’s proper hard work, real journalism in my opinion.

Just read an article where the clubs are questioning why we signed players knowing we have no money and it’s a fair comment I don't think it is a fair comment. SRD were entitled to believe what they had repeatedly been told, that the stadium deal was agreed. With that in mind, they had sponsors on board, so they had the right to expect the deal would be done by now and that the money would be available. Malign influencers are determined to bring us down and it looks like they might have finally succeeded.
