Can I congratulate John Blackburn for everything he has done for the Salford Red Devils Foundation. If I understand the above posts, you have actually got this wrong Gill and should be thanking Paul King for this not john Blackburn. Please reddo and for God's safe make sure you put the correct name when complimenting the club. It means so very much to the fans. Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance John Blackburn ran the Foundation for many years and now he has stepped aside his son Neil has assumed control so John has been an incredible servant for the club. However it’s Paul King and his Ops Board colleagues that are responsible for our survival and where we are now. John chairs the CBS board which I has no day to day responsibilities. So you’re correct Kilop we owe our survival to Paul King

So you’re correct Kilop we owe our survival to Paul King I actually don't care whose name it is and imagine they don't want individual praise either. Well done everyone involved in the club, as currently we are starting to point the ship in the right direction. Long journey ahead but hopefully we can start fixing the foundations and strengthening the club for the long term.

Thanks in advance Thank you but I am confident I am congratulating the correct person for his work with the Salford Red Devils Foundation which work still continues. I know because I see John every week at the walking rugby sessions which are run by the SRDF free of charge for the benefit of old codgers like me. You should join us at Eccles College on Wednesday evenings and you’ll have a great time even if you can’t catch a ball! I do of course congratulate Paul King and fellow directors for their work at Salford Red Devils which are of course separate from SRDF which is a charitable organisation.

In other news Salford has a play offs business meet-up today in Manchester at Eden with over 70 businesses attending. Rowls and Paul King are attending. Great potential for commercial growth.

Do I think this will mean SRD will break into contention for a top two place in SL? Well, I'd be very surprised if that ended up being the case without several prime investors becoming involved and ending the necessity selling of playing assets full stop!

For once the club can start to plan for a brighter future and rather than constantly fire fighting to stay afloat. Personally I don’t define success as being in the top 2 more like a club challenging for play offs each season as opposed to scrapping for 11th spot each season. I suspect the club will now begin to build the infrastructure that will lead to stability off the pitch first and then subsequently to success on it. For me, I see this as a 3-5 year plan with staged KPIs to monitor progress.

For me, I see this as a 3-5 year plan with staged KPIs to monitor progress. It all depends on IMG gradings and the changes made to them over the next decade TBH. Success is being there or thereabouts, that's true. Establishing that takes time as well as effort and the cynic in me finds it suspicious enough to ask if we have long enough?
