Went for a meal a couple of times last season and having paid for an overpriced meal I asked for a coffee, they said you’ll have to go to the Main 1873 lounge and get one there…after queuing…didn’t bother but queued at HT😩 To me…Sunday…we don’t need top level food we need a reasonably priced good quality Sunday lunch buffet…perfect…. like Heathcotes food but it’s a rugby match and ‘fine dining ‘ not needed… Might be ok for RU Hospitality where companies are paying. A reasonably priced Seasons 1873 Food/Match Package and we’d probably have bought in Mind you hospitality at the World Cup Final Old Trafford, £225….it ended up Pie n a Pint ( couldn’t purchase chips as they only came with a costly burger) then small dirty seats in the Stretford End…wonder why people don’t return? Well you can draw lots of conclusions from those prices.
1) Who is it meant to attract? 2) Inflated prices usually result from. and in direct correspondence to the stupidity of the buyers involved. 3) Not having control of your products risks alienating your main market 4) This has nothing to do with fine dinining which doesn't need to cost the Earth, an arm and both legs. 5) The Vichy market is chocker bloked with lots of two short planks with more disposable income than sense.(which, of course fits right in with their low excitement thresholds)

That coffee incident would prevent me from ever purchasing dining again. At least until I know there had been a change in caterer. I don't think I've ever eaten anywhere where I'm unable to get a hot drink before, during, or after a meal.

I’ve only ever done it once. For the Hill FC home game. It was three course rather than two and the coffee was brought to the table.
I was very quiet in there though.

Don't forget the £6.50 (IIRC) they were charging for a pint in South Stand last season. That may have only been for Guinness, but pretty sure bitter/lager/cider were all stupidly priced as well.
I've been to gigs in London and paid less.🙄
If the club is going to get control over match day revenues they have to get the food/drinks price competitive and make sure they serve something decent. You'd like to think that Seven Brothers would do a deal for starters (being McAvoy's & all that!).

I wonder if the club even consider seven brothers to be the supplier or sponsor of the fan zone … seven brothers has some really great drinks and nice places to go out… could be ideal to use for events or something….. would be great to see the club having some sort of partnership with the local businesses / breweries and distilleries

Seven Brother have had temporary stands at games but the club, as far as I know, have zero control over matchday food and drink. Heathcotes do food upstairs. I think JW Lees do the 1873 bar. Not sure about the drinks in the stands. I assume that's Heathcotes too.
There are other things the club have no control over either. Like parking and using Ticketmaster. We may see some changes when the stadium sale goes through and we enter a new season.

I'd be amazed if 7 Bros wouldn't do us a deal considering Nathan played for us and the family are fans. We must have other fans with contacts in the catering world as well? The Salmon King to provide the club with any fish requirements maybe? (at mates rates😉). I don't mind paying extra for a decent pint or pie/burger but all we get served up at the minute is overpriced, substandard shite.

I think the drink and food is all sold on a franchise basis as far as I know. The franchisees will pay a fortune to the stadium. I think it will be part of that money SRD will be looking to get a share of. Having high franchise costs adds to the overall running costs so the franchisees will look to buy on the best rate they can, ignoring if it’s local or not.

Well let me remind people that 7Brothers did have a small mobile ‘bar’ in the West Stand up till Covid struck. They have or had - I recall - also provided the beer at Salford City FC. Whilst placing an order with them a couple of years ago, I additionally messaged them in an attempt to brew an anniversary beer in 2023. I would endorse SRD enacting a policy of favouring or supporting local businesses. After all it would reflect the fans ownership model as well as Salford Council’s own ‘Preston model’ policies. as reflected in their desire to pull in control of the stadium. Lastly just to note their is already a ‘Salford Red’ beer produced by the Ladywell based First Chop brewery. Ironically kids I never drink at the game and if I did it would only if a fine selection of single malts was on sale. 🥃

If we can get local businesses involved in some way it can open up more money coming in and also it could potentially mean new investors which is a bonus
Look at Wakefield and maybe Oldham local investors ( not sure on Oldham )
Do you know they is 2 Salford born owners in super league
