Maybe the club are just being prudent. If the council fail to buy the ground, there will be no spare money. Don't spend anything until you know you can spare it. If that’s the case there’s not much we can do but massively masses up next season. Certain teams have already done a lot of business as expected

So are we going to be on another survival season and try and punch above our weight next season?
The one positive, probably, is that we’re not, up to now, losing any of our better players but, however, Watkins, Sneyd, Lafai, Sio are now ageing players along with Sidlow, Hellewell, Gerrard, Singleton, Addy and we have a v small squad
So some more positives?

I have heard that your mates on the board have signed 4-5 players for next year already JJR. The negative is that these will not be announced until Season Tickets go on sale. The ST have been delayed due to the TV deal dragging on and on and fixture make up. So that is positive, we also need to move players on who are not contributing to the team. I expect a lot of movement in the off season. We need 2-3 new forwards in at least then cover in the backs.

I wonder what the result of the season ticket survey was or indeed what it was all about…don’t tell anyone about anything until we are selling season tickets?
I’m sure Bleasy and Rowley have identified some players, the Club stated we have more cash this year, but the deathly silence is strange…even those on here who are mates with those high flying board members are silent…a marketing ploy no doubt 😉🤣🤣… I just find it uninspiring, dull and tedious

The delay however is not on our Club, that is on Super League Execs and the TV deal. Suck it up, lets get behind the team we've only a few games left now.

Cheers mate…good pedigree and seems exactly what’s needed
Interesting that Leeds have such a large talent pool to let this lad go….but still sit below us

Based on the last few months if we don’t move some of our older players on, sign new and most importantly adapt our style of play we will be in a relegation battle or bottom four slog. Rowley has to get this team to play with less risk at times because when expansive Rugby does not work we are easy to beat.

Yep MTR looking forward to 5 grunts and a kick JJR MTR simply means sometimes you have to play differently to get a result or be conservative and complete for 20 mins much like Wigan did. Most NRL teams play percentage Rugby and hunt mistakes, defend first then build on attack. We cannot approach a game like this. Throwing a ball around on our own line is not smart. How many times this season have we actually executed Rowleyball, I'd say twice v Hull and Cas away. Therefore build a playing style that keeps you in the contest rather than all or nothing Rugby. I know lots of our posters think Rowley is this world beating coach, but he has much work to do. We've been found out big time this year, that is nothing to do with top 6 - we just need to have a rethink on how we play rather than be a one tick pony.

World beating, I don’t think so but to me he’s made a team capable of getting in the top six with the lowest budget and but for those 3 matches Leeds Leigh Saints when the world and refs seemed against us then we’d have been in this year.. He has made a team is everyone works and plays for each other, which is not easy to achieve
We always want more but I think the squad is a bit busted…look at the strapping on Watkins leg. He’s forgotten more about RL than I know and I’m sure he’s aware of the situation and wants different things…but Wigan are on the rise, top of the League and conceding few points…the good thing is about yesterday; we didn’t fold
As Dixon says, when 20 points achieved he’d done his job with his resource but we and him want and expect more
Enjoy the rollercoaster ride and you never know.

Ì feel Sneyd could be a problem going forward. Could he play as a non tackling loose fwd?
My point here is that Ryan Brierley needs to be more involved as he has pace to burn and our half backs need a refresh.

Agree EB, too much is expected of Sneyd and he does far too much (organising, playmaking, kicking goals and field)maybe as a second hooker, although his tackling not the best and with another half back coming in (Atkin but he’d have to learn to kick)
At least some of the workload should come off Sneyd, we rely on him too much.

Sneyd has simply not been good enough this year. Smith, as with our other two games against Wigan, completely outplayed him last night. The job of a scrum half is to be the general, control our tempo, decide when we swing it, direct team mates when we need to simply get through a set, and to use the kicking game to get us into the right parts of the field. Unlike last season, this year he simply hasn't been good enough in those areas particularly with his kicking game. That bomb last night right before half time when Field went full length killed the game. He could put that kick up to come down where it did 100 times and I'd be surprise if we score even once. Maybe age and fatigue have caught up with him. We definitely need a succession plan there

The kick wasn’t his fault mate…it’s those following the kick that were the problem
