Our squad is 26 at the moment plus Reserves. I’ve assumed Burgess is in the squad. I have a feeling Watkins/Halliwell will also cover Centre. If we can add a winger and Prop to this list then we’re looking good.

Hellewell centre MTR?!🤔 His Wiki said he played Centre/Wing when younger but doubt he'd cope there these days. Watkins is the obvious centre cover and I'd put Stone in there before Hellewell, who is more prop than backline cover IMO.

Not sure Halliwell can play centre now he put on a lot of size to play in the middle last year, Watkins could do a job but he’s best at sr now. Unfortunately there’s no point classing the reserve lads yet.
Interesting that Gerrard still isn’t back

So I have removed Burgess from the Squad and Gerrard on the basis he has not been seen training that leaves us with 24 in the Squad which is nowhere near enough. The club are looking at a Prop but realistically we need a couple more backs to bolster numbers. With Burgess and Sio now off the books for different reasons surely there is money available.
If we are in for Peter Hola as a Prop get him, backs wise make a play for Corey Hall or look at Championship/Academy players. I'd hope that King/Blease are not in Portugal and looking to get some business done ASAP.

Hola's average game stats look good in the article posted on the other thread. Hall is a good shout. Young player and he has a clearer future path to game time with us, given Lafai's age, rather than KR who are set with Gildart and Opacic.
The other thing that worries me looking at the squad is age. We must be the oldest in SL, which is good in some ways, given their experience. It's conceivable that a quarter of the squad retire in one off-season leaving us with huge amount of recruitment to do.
I have a feeling that we'll roll with what we have and make some loan signings instead; at least until the stadium is sorted.

We have let sio and burgess go Gerard set to leave there wages should all be there minimum we need a prop and a back and then hopefully some loan players Hola would be good he’s big aggressive and explosive but works hard. Not old either which helps balance things out |

Exactly why we need a depth winger atkin running the ball back all game will mess his body up big time and we lose his impact in the middle. Don’t mind cross on the wing though

Surely Hankinson would be the first man up at W or C. Then, Shorrocks or Stone at C, with Nene moving out to the wing, leaving Atkin to spell Mellor and provide his usual threat in the middle of the park.

Atkin is magic.
Not only a gpood player but quality and will turn out at magic sponge if asked to.
Nene was excellent on the wing for Leeds.
Ryan can play wing or full back.
Rowles is right abour surprises and RL.

No doubt atkin is a top 🔝 player but the modern winger is expected to take slot of early hit up, which I have no doubt he’d do but he’s going to take a good beating
