I see Budgie is still on the squad photos on't website! Can't be staying surely? Don’t forget there’s not been an official announcement about it yet. I’d think we’d be trying to get a swap or something. We can’t be that stupid to straight up release him with such a small squad |

Your logic makes sense here Russ, however if we terminate his contract on disciplinary grounds I'd assume he becomes a free agent, Saints or Leigh will sign him I reckon if this happens. The sooner clarity is given on Burgess the better and we all move on. I know that the Club will be pushing hard on Season Tickets and Match Tickets leading up to the start of the season as this is the biggest income stream without TV money. We may sign 1-2 more funds permitting. Salford 1963 have you heard anything from the Club? |

The sooner clarity is given on Burgess the better and we all move on. Shocking for a top flight club Where has this 22 come from ? There are 24-5 players leaving Budgie out of the count on the website. There’s a few reports of Gerard retiring as since he’s not been to pre season I can see that so if budgie does leave that’s 23, the young half has never played sl before so could go either way and we have a handful of very injury prone players. Most teams seem to be going for 32 man squad’s granted we can’t afford it but it doesn’t make are position any better |

Well, the key words may be somewhere in the region of, but the difference in 3-4 players makes a massive difference to the amount of drama involved.
And that's without discounting the whole of the reserve side, at least some of whom must be okay players.
Or are we basing everything on corporal Jones impressions?
If so, "What if all 25 get injured long term and all the reserves end up with their legs in plaster at the same time?"

We might go all season with no bans or injuries but uno what they say prepare for the worst hope for the best 🤷♂️. It seems the new rules are causing more injury as it’s faster with less stops, which may be why most clubs are up to 32:34 players

Most of this "realism" is based on incorrect number, silly suposition and worst case scenarios. There are small elements of truth being blown out of all proportion and coming out with a "We'll fall off the edge of the World!" result.
We can't ignore injury records but they are yesterday's news when all's said and done.
If Leeds and whoever we play for the five games after that tear us apart that's when we need to moan and groan, become hysterical and sound the alarms.

We will have to agree to disagree on this one I don’t think the squad is big enough or with enough depth. Only time will tell |

Agree with Russ on this, 22 is nonsense and not the correct number , as current size is 25. Last year we started with 28, lost sarge, lannon and longstaff early to mid season. Greenwood played one match so was useless. We've recruited alright i think, we need a few more bodies, but let's not forget if the stadium thing happens before end of March, are we not expecting some mid season signings as well? I'm okay where we are currently, if we get another prop and can decide whT happening with burgess I'm reasonably confident going into the season. Rather than wallowing in negativity, let's start the new year on a positive shall we. Am refreshed and looking forward to it now  |
