Hoping for a huge crowd. There will never be a better time to play Saints with 6-7 missing. We need to turn up in defence and attack today. Kicking also has to be on point targeting Ritson he doesn’t like the rough stuff. Just hope the Ref has a better game than Thaler v Leigh.

Yes looking at the squad I really hope Rowley goes with three forwards plus Atkin off the bench. When we put Costello on the bench and do not use him like v Leeds it offers no value. Rowls can sometimes make strange decision on the bench, I hope its Atkin, Olmondroyd, Hellwell and Greenwood. Saints are there for the taking today much will depend on our forwards winning field position, we've been struggling for much of the season in the forwards so this is a massive test. A final note no Sidlow or Greenwood again, we need to be signing younger forwards next year.

I think Rowley has to sometimes put a back on the bench as cover for injured backs that are playing

Well not the result wanted in our big game, 7 straight losses, morale will be at an all time low

Well left with 15 to go; I just don’t understand what the offside and lying on rules are now…it’s pointless

I know one or two on the forum think I am always having ago at referee's, I promise from now on I will not,I will just say their is not a good one in the league The second half was referred by their supporters. Now for the game we did most things right in the first half and deservedly went in in front, the second half changed for me on the sin binning and Smith loosing one eye.Now I might get stick for this but never mind,Snyed is not a bad goal kicker, but is broken play kicking is bobbins he might as well just pass it to them. Finally I am just glad we have 20 points, because I cannot see many Moor wins.

Before the sin binning Dixon, Ritson had his foot in touch with the touch judge standing over him….possibly the last match of the season for me and I’m a season ticket holder; totally pointless watching such a poor show from the officials
Why waste a sunny Sunday afternoon…I could b3 doing th3 garden

The officials were awful, but my overriding frustration today was how many times we just fell off tackles in that second half, it was really poor. Did Ritson and Welsby cover themselves in oil at half time? Lost us so much field position off which they scored at least one. Need to be better.
On the main though some encouraging signs, especially the first half, not all doom and gloom

Yes we can all blame the ref and there was some poor stuff but again why play with 16 men?we were clearly struggling to get any yards and we leave ormondroyd on bench granted he hasn’t had a great season but at least a ten minute spurt would have freshened one of the others up!

I've been a lifelong football supporter since the mid 1960's but started watching RL in season 2010 when along with my son we went down to the Willows in 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed our first ever game together, so much so that we became season ticket holders and also started going to quite a number of away games. However, six years later I stopped watching RL all together due to a combination of two main factors. Following my football team home and away meant that with RL being a summer sport I never ever got to get a free weekend but probably the greater reason was the performance of match officials which left me more often than not infuriated after almost every game. A flagrant disregard of the basic rules of the game such as mentioned by JJR in an earlier post together with blatant favouritism shown towards the 'bigger' teams just made the game a complete farce as I was concerned. So much so that I have never returned to the sport since. I've often argued that while football referees are prone to making poor decisions, RL referees by comparison make 'corrupt' decisions and nothing will make be think otherwise.

Radio commentators were disappointed in Jack smith giving a soft high tackle on Ackers in second half. Said he only gave it because of the cry from the Salford fans.
They sounded disappointed at the officiating all round.

I remember Hunt performing as a compere at the Willows for something or other and he basically laid into Salford throughout the whole thing and not tongue in cheek stuff. How he had the gall to do it and how he got out of the main car park alive still leaves me in a state of wonder...

I just read on Twitter that the only comments made on the match officials during the commentary were when we were given a penalty for what they believed was a "soft tackle" on Danny Addy. Maybe Hunts eyesight and judgement is giving him problems, or he's just a plonker.
