Crowd just over 4500, with Utd playing last match and with it on Viaplay, moving in the right direction

I thought Hellewell had an excellent game.
Also With Wright, Greenwood and Ackers out I am sure the club will get the Dupree bid over the line as we need more bodies.

For me Sneyd needs a contract revue and a possible back room future. A class act and THE most important signing under the Blease/Rowley/King regime.

Not a classic yesterday but a win is a win, thought King was our best forward and looks to be playing for a contract. Edge defence was off at times but with Lafai and Sio coming back into the team its not to be unexpected, Hull moved the ball well. Syned's kicking first half on 5th was ineffective then he got into management mode 2nd half, which was fantastic. Glad to see Jack O and Sidlow get much needed minutes. This year I think Brodie is a marked man, he's certainly trying hard but not making as many breaks, etc perhaps we need to utilise Brierley more into the line.
@bdb did King or Trainor pitch the Community Fund in 1873 and was anything mentioned around Tyler?

Yeah Trainor asked Ryan B about the community fund and Ryan spoke very well on how the support of the fans for the fund shows the players how dedicated the fan base is and has a positive impact etc. Ryan B is a great spokesperson. I think every team has a Brodie strategy because he doesn’t seem to get the same space but Ryan B spoke about how uplifting it is to have Snyd and Brodie on the team because they always want the ball when no one else does and when the games are in tough stages. I thought it was an interesting insight and something not really visible to the spectator (or to me at least).

Not having a go, I just hate this phrase "Not a classic ..." the games are all individual , different and interesting in their own way and the only poor gameas of RL are those huge score, one sided efforts.

I thought it was a decent game yesterday. A few situations where short passes went down but close contest and, most importantly, a win. Some big gaps in the defensive line, which needs sorting out.

King was cited for a high shot but looks like it is just a fine, that is good as we need him for Magic v KR on Saturday.

Took my little one for the first time on Sunday and she loved it. Was totally baffled by the rugby but loved the "red debil" and all the noise. Really enjoyable family day and a credit to the club. Although definitely a trick missed by not having anything for sale afterwards as we wanted to get her some merch to remind her of her first game.
Match was entertaining although Jesus our defence was woeful at time and basic counting of man marking was exposed twice and looked embarrassing Am also concerned by both second rows as I thought Watkins and stone did rock all. Stone especially looks poor and all attacks seem to stop when it gets to him as he has no offload game. I lost track of how many tackles Watkins and stone missed but it was a lot. Not sure how much that was down to both having poor games, but definitely something is different from last year as they both stand a lot flatter and we seem to either turn the ball inside or just hit the centres now. Weak spot is definitely stone and sneyd defensively and Hull exposed it a lot. Though king did a shed load or work, but croft got my MOM. He obviously isn't allowed to do what he did last year, but still looks the best half back on the pitch by a mile and just adds pace and directness as soon as ball was in hand
Other pluses, sneyd, croft and ackers all kicked from open play which confused Hull. Though pack stood up well. Dupree had a good game and along with king were the best forwards on the pitch. Felt we had another gear if needed and Hull were just hanging onto our coat tails.
However, defensively we have to be 100% better as that wasn't good enough and any top 6 team would have ripped us apart.

Only seen the brief highlights as I was at a family do on Sunday but we scored another couple of cracking tries and conceded a couple of really soft ones (although to be fair to Hull their opening try was really well worked).
I'll take a win no matter how it was achieved. Hull have won 4 on the spin and regardless of who they've played (bar Wigan) that's decent form. Gutted to be losing Ackers for the next month as he'll be a big miss for the KR & Wigan games but Mr Versatile won't let us down and I reckon the big stage at SJP will bring out the best in him.đź‘Ť

Don’t agree that Watkins and Stone did nothing. Stone got the assist for Sneyd’s try after breaking through the line and Watkins set up the chance for Cross’s break that led to Sneyd’s try by breaking a tackle offloading to Croft.
According to the official stats. Watkins missed 2 tackles and Stone 5. They were our top tacklers with 26 and 24 respectively. Watkins made 8 carries, Stone 12 with average metres gained of 7 and 6 which only Sio (10) and Hellewell (8) beat. King also got 7 and a few got 6.
Our edge defence is poor at times. That’s partly because the centres and halves shoot out a lot so if they get it wrong (as Cross did twice on Sunday) then we’re in trouble. 2nd towers then have to compensate. We are definitely missing something in attack this year. Feels like we’re playing a lot flatter and hitting the lead runner more often than last year which I assume is a tactic. But we do look more static at times. Maybe that’s cos more energy is going on defence this year?
We struggle to get out of our own 40 by driving the ball. For all Dupree’s strengths he doesn’t tend to make many metres on an average carry, esp after contact. Hellewell has impressed me in his short spells over last two games.
