Great news but important we all keep the message going that £250k is the bare minimum, and every contribution really counts. Another 50-75k could make a huge difference, especially if there is some form of matched funding. Speaking of which, can anyone elaborate on this a bit? I gather this was mentioned at the meeting, some sort of matched funding to add to what we raise. What is it? How does it work? It’s part of the Gvt’s levelling up fund. I’m June the ratio moves to 20:80 so we put £250k in we get £1m in return. Some have suggested that the scheme maximises at £1m so we could have a pot of £1.25m plus whatever else we raise above £250k. We’ve employed a bid writer and we have been given the thumbs up that we are eligible but I’m guessing that’s a joint bid with the Council but assuming we keep all of the funds. Funds through by September

Thanks. So it’s a possible but not a given. Fingers crossed then, that would be absolutely colossal for the club. If invested wisely it could underpin the club for a decade. Or we could sign loads of props. Great news but important we all keep the message going that £250k is the bare minimum, and every contribution really counts. Great news! Was at £236k when I checked an hour or so ago so hopefully we can push on a bit now and crack the 300k as mentioned above. Must've been that 10k that JJR put in that pushed us over the edge.😎 JJR have you gone big ??

This is bringing a real feel good factor to Salford Red Devils, I bet JJR is even tempted to put in and say goodbye to the past.
271k on we go to 300k.

Fully agree with Andy Burnham and I've been saying for years that there should be far more fan ownership in sport. The way football has gone is a joke with foreign ownership. The fact a club the size of Man Utd is being whored out to the highest bidder by those parasites the Glazers tells you pretty much all you need to know and the Premier League are every bit as culpable as the clubs for their shambolic "fit & proper" regulations.

That's a separate conversation Dixon but I certainly don't disagree with you on the money. I did laugh at the furore last night on the news about the guys who have been caught streaming Premier League games illegally who have made something like £5m-£7m over the past few years. I'm sure the reporter said something like "this illegal streaming could ruin the Premier League". Yeah if you say so.. the new 5 year Sky deal is worth £895m to the Premier League! £7m is about the annual salary for a fairly average Premier League player these days!🤦♂️ Anyway back to the rugby.....😁
