Well what a 3 hours at Salford Red Devils this morning, the players amongst fans and and the acknowledgement that we all can do something super amazing to shape our Clubs future.
Some fascinating insights from Rowley, Lafai/Sidlow/Gerrard/Addy/Sio at least a month away, the international break has come at a good time. If we can get to 6,000 fans at games its 500,000k on the bottom line, more revenue to spend on players or invest, that extra person you invite who comes back is massive for our club.
The club are going to state their intentions in the next 48 hours and I for one am excited, collectively we can make this happen, We are Salford.
JJR I expect you'll feedback in the coming days, all I will say is it is now or never - we stand tall, change and make history. Those that don't like change are welcome to get the V1 for £2 to Leigh and pay over the odds to watch Del Boys Leopards.
We've got loads to come and IMG to charm, here is to a massive next couple of Seasons. Lets get behind our Club the time is most definetly Now.

BTW Not sure if it was Salford Slim, but someone put in a shout for ideas and input like BDB on web sites which the club are 100% behind, they want our input.
All I will say is ideas/requests are great but phrasing something such as this is crap is not the way. Perhaps we can refine our approach, this is one way of doing X, but if we did it like this ........... perhaps the output will .......... and be amazing. This is not criticism just a point to state that when we approach the club or supporters trust then it has to be with Best Intensions and Positive, not marking homework.

Thanks for the update Maurice. I've seen a few pictures from today and the lads looked like they were having a great time. It really does feel like it's a good time to be a Salford fan and that, as you say, it's do or die time. We've had sustained performances over several seasons (except the one year). Recruitment has been spot on. We've signed a bunch of players to extension, which I can never remember happening before. I think 6k is realistic as there are definitely some lapsed fans that we can get back with continued performances on the pitch and by generating a feel good factor. I think the club do great in the community with the little we have to - I saw a touch rugby tourney for girls on social media. I think touch rugby should be a major focus to build our future fan base. It's entry is easy for anyone - no getting smashed in a tackle. Let's get schools running touch rugby leagues if we can. Run community tournaments at different age groups. Include a target on RU amateur clubs and not just RL (open age included). Touch can transend the two sports. If we have our players there and people have a great time, maybe we can get a few more down to start enjoying the games. I was thinking about pre-game, maybe have skill challenges each week the people can partake in. Kick the ball to land in a spot on the ground or in a bin, throw the ball through different holes - from standing and from a dummy half positions. Little kick and catch. Conversations over small posts for kids. That kind of thing. As you also say, the club are listening, people are spread very thin, doing multiple jobs. There has been a lot going on with IMG, stadium ownership, how that model will impact is, the community scheme preparation etc. I said in a another post that there's no point in moaning if we don't also offer potential solutions (also we don't know all the ins and outs). The club have listened about the website and I hope to offer some more ideas in that regard in the future. I'd love to be able to put money in when the community scheme launches, unfortunately I'm not in a position too. I don't even have a season ticket and have to select my games at the moment (won't be there tomorrow 😔). I'm living on savings while I retrain. But that has given me time to come up with ideas for the website - my attempt at contributing. I've played about with a few things if anyone is interested and feel free to given me feedback - I have thick skin 🤣🤣 as I say, it's ideas I can give to the club and they can then take what they want, if anything. You can have a view of some concepts here. Bare in mind that most links are actually dead as it's a design not a working site and there may be a few broken things. I've added a large slider at the top (desktop only) to promote tickets and merchandise. Added black to the colour scheme to highlight media. Added tests feeds for YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, plus place holders for adverts - obviously these would be club content, one for dining and the other for RDTV or merchandise (I made a rubbish merch advert for testing 🤣). I've also promoted social in multiple palces and on mobile you'll see quick access at the bottom of the screen to tickets, matches and merchandise. Concept: johnr218.sg-host.com/Clicking on 'Tickets | Dining' would take you to a match page where you can link through for match tickets, purchase dining in the page (plus anything else the club wanted to sell per match, and a map of the value. Concept here: johnr218.sg-host.com/event/wigan-warriors-v-salford-red-devils/Post match this would become a match report. Concept: johnr218.sg-host.com/event/hull-fc-v-salford-red-devils/Let's maintain the positivity and keep the ideas coming. I'm really excited to here the news on community investment. Hopefully, we get more good news once the council take oflver the stadium too - we already know we can make more from matchdays and the beer selection has already improved 🤣 It's also hugely positive we've made twonsigning for next year already... when was the last time Salford recruited at this stage of the season... we're nine weeks in!

I’d love to see some sort of shares being able to buy etc I can’t commit to a season ticket due to work commitments but would definitely be interested in investing some money into the club. I’m already a member of all the different schemes and clubs etc just would like to feel part of it

Paul said on a podcast it should be good to good in April, so I'm guessing that's what will be coming out in the next couple of days (and maybe more).

Just putting some balance into the hiatus We need to be raising a minimum of £1M annually. Is simply selling shares going to do that or is it another Squad Builder type activity raising a few bob each year from the s@me people Hope we have th3 smbition to reach for the moon and not simply survive. Wonder if it’s got the ambition to follow the Bundesliga or Barcelona Community type models and raise real money Interesting times…pressures on
The Questionnaire didn’t fill me with any confidence…naive at best to me. Really hope I’m wrong; but do shareholders just see themselves as having special events and getting a few bob off merchandise…if the places I’ve got a bit invested in offered that they’d be no shareholders.
Ok MTR, RUB, K, LHR smash back

He was an eloquent, handsome fella who put the good word in for DevilTalk and it's dedicated users. No idea who the tubster was though.😇 I really enjoyed this morning. The players seem happy and fully bought into Rowley's plans and we just seem a really tight-knit bunch. Shame I had to make a sharp exit in order to get myself to the footy in Walsall this afternoon but there was a lot of positivity. I'm really looking forward to the big announcement and hopefully the fans will fully back the club's plans. Now let's rip into Catalans tomorrow so we can head to Headingley in a fortnight full of confidence.

BDB I am pretty sure the club will offer tickets to those and add value to their cause. There is a digital manager at Salford that you can share your Web Sites Designs/Mock Ups with. Pretty sure King and Co are setting this up, any changes or suggestions I'd say back up with data points a bit like you did on prior emails. My line of work is Cloud but more platform infrastructure rather than websites or products.

Ok MTR, RUB, K, LHR smash back You cannot compare us to Barca or German clubs with a bigger fan base JJR. Our situation is unique that we will become a community model RL Club, the first of its kind. Your investing money into Salford not for financial return but to grow the club and allow for expansion so that more businesses will invest and in turn more fans turn up. Most importantly the Community Model allows us to retain our best players and invest in youth for the future. Basically the buck stops with us, we invest if we care, PK and Co have done what they can the past few years, going to the next level is on us now. You can also stand for nomination too if you want to become an elected community board member. We now also have a stadium fit for purpose which I know you were passionate about like we all were. Its time to build JJR.

That’s exactly the issue MTR if we consider we’re a small club badly supported and we accept the we will stay as that…bumbling along and surviving We are a in a major UK City if we have ambition to move towards becoming a major team with an ambitious plan we can move along that path, the Barcelona pathway
How do you think Salford Quays happened from a derelict Salford Docks wasteland…grit determination, vision and ambition…by two people who learnt along the way; the visionary Les Hough and Peter Henry
Our survival mindset will achieve what it sets out to do possibly via another Squad Builder type initiative. OR we can set out on an ambitious pathway… Lower your sights then and look at Wigan and Saints…not even cities..and see what they achieve….’we don’t have the support’ we’ll generate it with ambition…’oh we’ve tried everything’…no we’ve not
This is the big Share Option opportunity put forward by the ST about 5 years ago and eventually being looked at, let’s not waste it by having low expectations
I just hope things are better than the questionnaire

Time the glass was half full JJR, investment allowing us to retain rather than sell players will be massive. If you can? and want to invest then do it - we all appreciate these are challenging times therefore any level of investment is a fantastic gesture. Those that find fault and moan as MTR stated may as well go to Leigh and watch Derek's lot and the halftime Pub entertainment if you want a local club with a benefactor. That is not us.

Questionanaire was sent out to help define the Community Sceme WD
Glass is always brimming….what you have to do is generate the liquid for the glass…do you want a full glass or just a cupful in the bottom.? Not moaning WD, putting an alternative view having developed major ambitious projects in the past
It all depends where you aim WD…the moon or the top of a bush.

From my perspective, because I know they are interested in having a chat, I thought I’d spend a bit of time putting a few concepts together on the front end – better responsiveness to mobile, increased content, consistent structure and spacing etc, so I’m happy to take feedback from others too and us that when I do chat with people at the club. The back end is also where a lot of gains can be made by ensuring media is optimised, using quality plugins to automate things (freeing up time), and optimising script loads on each page.
As I've said from the start, I'm not actually a web designer or developer - I can do it as I taught computing at a college before having enough of education as a working environment - but typically I am an ideas person (not always good!) and like to help others. I'm retraining now, I've paid for a project management course - I did consider training for Cloud because I can only see that industry growing but I really didn't know where to start. I also considered the coding route, but the world is moving to a low-code and no-code environment, which removes the mid-level positions. I do enjoy the web stuff though and being able to help people in that regard so I'm working on Black Dragon Design at the moment to offer web design and hosting on the side.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think the club have shown a ‘go-big’ mentality recently JJR but there is always room for more big ideas. I imagine there are some plans in the works that we are unaware of. But let’s look at the last 6 months, we’ve signed Croft to an 8-year deal, and extended Lafai, Ackers, Dupree, Burgess, Brierley, and others. When has that happened before? We’ve recruited for next season already and we’re entering week 10. Again, I don’t remember that happening before. In the past, I think the old Salford would have cut costs, sold players, and be happy with trying the avoid relegation for another year. The community shares will only bring in funds once unless they dilute further, but I imagine the clubs have plans for those funds. There is a feel-good factor at the moment, and I think that, and our continued performances on the pitch, are key to increasing our attendance. As I said above, I do think 6k is a realistic target to start with (unlike the ridiculous pans when we moved to the AJ Bell where they thought we’d all of a sudden get 8k fans because of a new stadium). I think we can get around 6k by enticing lapsed fans back and getting a few more family members from current fans to come along. Obviously, the longer-term target would be to increase this further but that will require generating new fans, which means introducing them to the game, and I’m sure the club have ideas in this regard, and I reckon people on here will have ideas too. For my two pennies worth, as I mentioned above, I think touch rugby is the way to engage schools (have a school league or regular competitions) and people in the community (run public tournaments). We could also target amateur RL and RU clubs and have tournaments across all ages. I really think RL as a whole need to take this approach, the NFL have done it globally with flag football; it just opens the door for almost everyone. We could make some of the tournaments for charities and link up with them for the extra press – I used to run events at a college I taught at and raise money for Christie’s (they looked after a student who passed away) and people always go involved – touch rugby, 5-a-side football, hair dying, head shaving, leg waxing, fancy dress etc. Maybe, we could offer season tickets to winning teams? That gets a group of people who enjoyed touch to come to the games regularly, not just as a one-off, which builds up a habit. They are also in a friendship group so can attend together… maybe offer each winner the opportunity of a second season ticket at half price – for their partner or friend.
