Our best home performance this year but a proper game of two halves. First half we were very dominant and should have been further ahead. Their 1st half try was one of the softest we’ve conceded this year.
2nd half we newly imploded but our defence was huge. Absolutely under the pump for almost the whole half but we did just enough. Can’t believe he missed that last kick but I’m very glad he did! Sneyd’s goal kicking won it for us in the end

He was a left footed kicker and if you look at some that Sneyd has missed this season it’s from similar positions

I agree regarding the radio coverage on Radio Manchester. Truly appalling. Constantly telling the listeners how to tune in to RL on the radio. Yes, we know. We have already done it. And constantly saying that SRD hadn’t scored a point in the 2nd half. Even though the two point winning margin was scored in the 2nd half. But what a great defensive performance. Get the attack back to last season’s standard and we have some team here.

I thought the crowd was loud today. Much better than other games this season It’s been like watching in library at some. As you say, much better today. |

I know others have said no good for nerves, but loved game and atmosphere thought we had bigger crowd than stated. Others haven't said it But I will thought Brodie Croft defence immense, as well as others. Saw another side of his game today, just wish they would all think of my nerves.

Great performance yesterday, the attack is still a bit clunky at times but the defence and effort was there. Thought the crowd were immense and played their part. Kendall did his best for Cats in the 2nd half however we stood tall.

Kendall was awful he was hell bent on penalties at one stage despite Mickey 'The Thug' Mac doing his best to get at our lads, and then we had Sammy T also mouthing at Kendall.
As has been said these lads are a resilient bunch and I am really pleased for Burgess who was immense. How he is not in the England Team is beyond me he's better than Davies/Wrench/Ashton. He is up there with Makinson/Marshall/Handley.
Thought Longstaff did well too coming on for Matty, he had a slow start but grew into the game, he was the right sub to have on the bench.

I’ve been a critic of Kendall but didnt think he had too bad a game, except that I don’t think he gave an offside in the game and yes needs to be stricter on some of the challenges. He has stopped giving those little infringements at the ptb, good. Think he’s getting better and touch judges are helping more.
But he did penalise Mcillorum on Sneyd, 2 points, game won.

There's no way Davies/Wrench/Ashton are in the squad if the played for an unfashionable team. There are lots of players in that squad in the same boat. Play a handful of decent games for a 'big club' and you're in. Burgess and Charnley are better than those three. Makinson and Johnson would be my two picks. Marshall, Burgess and Charnley a close second. How is Watkins not in the team? The guy is immense week in and week out too. Never put a foot wrong in the world cup. Did he retire from internationals? KPP isn't better than Watkins in C or SR. King and Wardle aren't better at C. Matty Nicholson and Morgan Gannon aren't better in the SR.

He had a 10 metre start.😊 Johnstone is rapid though, when Budgie made the break I wasn't celebrating like half our fans were when I saw who was chasing him! Would be interesting to see how close Budgie would've got if the roles were reversed as it's obviously easier chasing than being chased as you have both arms free etc. Great effort from the lads though yesterday. Yes we could've executed better and made things easier for ourselves but the backs to the wall defensive effort 2nd half was magnificent and 2 or 3 massive hits stopped what looked like certain tries. Hopefully the 2 week break will allow the lads to rest up and come out all guns blazing at Headingley. On current form it's definitely a winnable game. 👹👹👹 |
