Williams never lets us down. What happened to Sio? I don't remember him getting hurt in the game... or is my memory foggy as I approach 40? I'm looking forward to us getting a few players back, especially Lafai. Partington coming back was great, he understandably looked a little off the pace last week, but the team was a little - a short turnaround wouldn't have helped and Cas is a dogged team under Last. I think he'll be firing on all cylinders this week.

We deserved the win for the second half tackling alone. A game of fine margins that we were on the right end of But being critical I think our kicking game could be alot better and Burgess punts to ball down field and theirs know palpitations at the end and at 75 you can do with out them Lastly I know we can't mention Mr Kendal so I will not let him spoil my Black and Tan tonight And a big well done to Paul Rowley and the boys.

What a great win! Leeds are there for the taking next week. A game of defence really. We had quite a bit of territory in the first half due to their mistakes but they defended us well. We struggled to break them down most of the game. So credit where it's due there. We still haven't hit our straps offensively yet but it'll come.
They had all the territory in the second half - lots of penalties (right or wrong) and we knocked on three times while playing the ball - but our defence stood up to everything that was thrown at us. Great covering and scrambling. I thought Longstaff did well to plug the gap at centre. Croft gets through a lot of work for a half-back. Burgess was great again. Wonderful try. Made yards. Great take from a kick near the end. Shame he couldn't pick up that loose Catalan pass. Can't help be be extremely proud of that second half effort.
I thought the kicking game was better in the first half. Sneyd was finding the ground more and splitting their players so they had to move to the ball. Croft put in a few decent kicks - a good grubber and a chip and chase for Brierley, both led to drop outs. But in the second half we were quite poor with our long kicks. They seemed to go straight to the FB and not very far despite having time. They hit the ground but not between players like on the first half, or towards the corner, they were very central - maybe a cause of fatigue? We defended a lot! Still, overall I thought the kicking game was an improvement on the past couple of weeks and had some variation. It was also out best home performance of the season, which is a great sign.
On another positive Hull are currently beating Huddersfield.
I'm also happy for Wakey that they didn't get hammered. I'd like to see Applegarth turn things around.

Defence amazing…strangely I didn’t think Kendall that bad, except for the fact that he didn’t seem to give a single offside.
Watkins absolutely immense…but this ball wide to Croft, after last week and this, has got to change, everybody knows it and he’s being smashed

Defence was excellent second half, But we made a fair few mistakes losing possession The one that springs to mnd Is after getting the 40/20 . Thankfully luck was on our side Unlike the Ref in the second half Catalan do run Leeds close on being Dirty sods, But most importantly it's two points, I normally don't buybooze on a flight but I'll gladly give Easyjet €20 To toast the Red Devils slaying the Dragons.

My main complaint was about treating the game as an afterthought to football even when SRD's game was what you'd tuned in for, their over riding obsession with City and United is as appalling as it is boring and unforgivable.
SRD deserve better than that coverage! All the best Russ

Agree to all the above. I couldn't make today so had to listen and it's embarrassing. Its as of jack has never watched a rugby match before. He just seems to lose the plot and never knows what's going on and can't keep up with the game. I agree about the football coverage, shocking the way it takes over everything. Either way, we won although we still sound like we're not clicking and didn't take advantage of the errors in the first half. Hoping we can use the international break to work on the attack some more as we need to be more lethal and start putting teams to the sword more effectively

With regards to the match coverage by Radio Manchester,I normally attend the matches but listened on line from Spain, and the coverage today was not as good as normal due to the obsession with Man United, they interrupted the match umpteen times, used the halftime interval as another excuse to discuss the United game again. If people switch on to coverage of a Riugby League game why would they want to know about a football match? Paul Whiteside was his usual eloquent self as was Louise, Jack was not his usual self, due I suspect to the producer continually telling him to switch over to the football.

I thought the crowd was loud today. Much better than other games this season I mentioned that to a friend. Only 4k but it felt like much more. Great atmosphere. Definitely our best home performance of the year. Hopefully, we can perform well in our two away games before we face both Hull teams at home. Tough stretch but we started with a win today. If we win three of the next four I'd be delighted! Looking at the table if we'd have beaten Wigan and Warrington, which we should have really, we'd be top! We haven't been at or best this year so that's a great sign too.
