I had to check that my friends weren't trolling me when they shared the news!
Massive respect to Paul King, Ian Blease and everyone else at the club who has been involved in making this happen.
Its a real statement of intent by the Club.

Me too. I thought my brother was taking the p***. I didn't think we lived in a world where this was possible. I wonder if this is a sign of incoming investment? Maybe from Gerrard. It's a huge catalyst though, no doubt it'll influence others.

Anyone slightly worried this might come back to haunt us? I mean we must only be offering a 7-year deal to get round the FIFA fair play rules like Chelsea have done with that Russian lad!😱😂
F*cking made up with this though, fantastic work by everyone involved. Cheered me up no end after all you pessimistic sods predicting we'll get beat off Leigh in a couple of weeks.😁

The club really is in a different place than I've ever seen it. They really want to build something around Croft. Amazing bit of business to keep the circling vultures of all those 'top' clubs with outstanding academies from their regular raid of little old Salford. Here and in Oz.
Feels almost magical this evening.

Bit more detail, and as someone else said, even with NRL clause it guarantees a transfer fee. Makes a change for us to be talked about in such a positive light in terms of contracts. Just enjoy it while you can, was sure someone would say putting all our eggs in one basket etc. Some people seem so negative if they can't criticise board not happy. Let's hope this is first sign of even more positive news to come. |

Have to say when we signed Lafai up for a few years I thought that might mean we weren’t keeping Croft. Wasn’t sure we’d have money for both. Great to have two genuine stars tied up for a few years
I’ll be amazed if we still have Brodie in 2030 if he continues the form of last year but let’s enjoy him while he’s here and celebrate his and the clubs commitment to our future
