I'm not sure we do, I think 6 specialist props with Partington as additional cover as well is more than enough. Rowley also doesn't seem adverse to playing a second row there for added mobility if required. What is this insistence on using all our potential budget and spots on things we don't need? Why not just wait and see how the season unfolds and sign accordingly. Give us more flexibility as we go. A season ending Injury to sneyd or brodie early on would definitely need plugging with a signing so would rather have that option available Not a bad point but at the same time if king or ormondroyd were out for the season we’d be weak in the pack. Moving sr there isn’t the answer. We need are pack to be on the front foot to allow the likes of Croft and ackers to play. kilop makes a valid point however I only count five recognised Props and one in Gerrard is versatile. The five are King, Olmondroyd, Dupree, Sidlow and Gerrard. Partington wants to play 13 he has said that and I agree - that leaves us assuming Greenwood (Who is a 2nd Row) but has the size may play 8 or 10. For me we need a minimum of six specialist Props at least given most decent SL Teams (especially Wigan and Saints) play with 3 Props on the bench. This has to be priority 1, appreciate half backs need cover but we have Atkin and Brierley, also possible either 6 or 7 from the reserves. If we can get a decent Prop in it has to be a priority. I make it five specialist Props please correct me if I have missed anyone out here. I'd have taken Naverette he is steady enough but he has been signed up elsewhere.

Greenwood will be a prop next year.
Understand what is being said, but just don't see it as critical as everyone else think. Let's see what happens, bit I can't see us adding anyone else now

Let's see what happens, bit I can't see us adding anyone else now Out and out props you have King Ormondroyd Durpree Sidlow Then you’ve gerrard and partington more locks than anything. But can play there.and finally greenwood who has been a sr but with his size and the amount of sr we have, youd imagine he’d play prop.

On a different note I think Sam stone will be a top signing big tall sr who runs top lines.

King only just back from World Cup duty so pack might be
Sidlow Ackers Ormondroyd Stone Greenwood Partington
Gerrard Atkin Dupree Wright
Still good and Hellewell Addy Lannon and others still covering for injuries

Also think Wright will start. I can see a world we’re sidlow start’s though. Sidlow Ackers Ormondroyd Stone Wright Partington Atkin King Dupree Gerrard/greenwood

Nevertheless had a few Offers from a couple of Superleague clubs but chose the French domestic competition, Home comforts before a bigger challenge in Superleague.

Reading between the lines, I think we'll have our usual shaky season start then get better as the season goes on. I actually think this Leigh game is a massive banana skin we may slip on due to us being a little under prepared for the season start and Leigh treating every game as a cup final. I hope I'm wrong, but can see a rough start on the cards...

It looks like Watkins will be ready for the start of the season, based on that I would go with the below team v Leigh
1 - Brierley (Sarge if Ryan's not fit) 2 - Sio 3 - Cross 4 - Lafai 5 - Burgess 6 - Croft 7 - Syned 8 - King V 9 - Ackers 10 - Olmondroyd 11 - Watkins 12 - Stone 13 - Partington
Subs - Dupree / Wright / Gerrard / Atkin
Looking at the Leigh squad bar Ipape and Asiata I do not get the hype. A backline Hardaker/Briscoe/Chamberlain/Leutele/Charnley should not cause us issue, both wingers are past their best. Lam is decent and Ipape but this is a game we should win if we defend well and complete our sets.

I am going to watch Leigh v Leeds on Saturday so will share any observations, not sure Leigh have an Academy so I expect their squad to get a hit out. My pal is a Leeds fan so its worth a beer and a short trip up the East Lancs.

Leigh have announced that the Pre-match entertainment will be the Popular music group Scouting For Girls Prince andrews favourite group. Must admit to having to search their "Hits" on Tubeyou, Suppose it's better than a Brass Band or a Popular pub & Trades club singer from the Wigan area. Good to see that both teams are scheduled to come out for the second half.

So I went to a very cold LSV yesterday - its a cracking ground. The Leythers had pretty much their starting side out bar Ipapa, I have got to say I was not that impressed, they looked like a side that's been recently put together. Whilst they beat a Leeds side with lots of first teamers missing it was a scrappy affair. The game yesterday for me highlighted that if we go wide against Leigh we will score with the pace of our backs. For Leigh, Leutele and Hardaker looked dangerous and Lam tried to organise, but in truth our first game is one that we should be winning comfortably. Credit to the Leigh fans they had a decent turnout too. It wouldn't surprise me if Derek acquires a Prop before the season starts.
