In other news the Tory Boy (Tosser) Councillor Garrido and the **** RAG MEN (Clearly they are never positive about Salford Rugby League) are pushing negativity on the stadium purchase by the Council. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/tories-claim-radical-plan-would-26419100Quite simply the Tory Boy (NIMBY) needs to look at his own lot (PPE scandal, etc) before mouthing off at the Mayor and I urged you all to stop buying the MEN if anyone does, its garbage. Strange how the MEN do not talk about how our attendances have increased by over 20% (They state 2,500 attend matches in the article which is wrong its over 4,000) or disclose the amazing work the Salford Reds Foundation does, this is acknowledged by the Council in the stadium notes online but equally they (MEN) cannot be arsed to publish these facts, 2,000 plus school children from Salford have been impacted by the Foundation, the work they do on accessibility etc. It is awesome but this is missed, funny that. The Garrido's are probably only interested in one part of the City.

The attitude of him to also effectively say nobody want the rugby club pisses me off. The club do a lot on the community.
Is there any reason, if say we have an i-pitch like Widnes to prevent grass churn up, that is, Sale and Salford FC couldnt all play there? I'm not that knowledgeable on it but us and Sale make it work and RL and RU seem to mainly play on a Fri and Sun. Football, at that level, I think, is a Saturday and mid-week fixture. Now I know there would be things like bank holidays where there could be clashes but these would be known and two teams could play away. I don't know if it could work but surely it could be looked at?
I also think a pitch that isn't grass would allow a lot of other stuff even during season, so long as it was covered. Not just events like boxing, MMA, concerts, but things like beer festivals, food and drinks festivals, Christmas market type events. A yearly Salford music festival weekend... maybe local bands inside the stadium and those are ticketed to bring money in but also have a stage in the car park where people can put themselves down for 15-20 minute stints to showcase themselves and have fun - doesn't just have to be music, it could be comedians or anything on stage type of act - these people wouldn't be paid, it's just something they can do if they want. Charge a small fee for entry into this area and then have a more expensive ticket for ground entry where bands and singers are doing longer, paid, sets.
As I've said previously, the pitch (if it was an i-pitch) could be rented out for five-a-side, touch rugby, hockey etc too, when not in use during the evenings - we could create and run leagues and cups there.
These ideas may be crap and unworkable but there must be things out there, there are plenty of community stadiums we can surely take ideas from.

You and I can have our only conversation, because as you know polotics is taboo on the forum.but their utterances have brought polotics into it so I say fair to comment.so here goes, you would think they would want to be under the radar with the state on the country. I know full well the labour council is not perfect by any means but if it hadn't been for them we would have been at Moor Lane years ago.Rant over.

Just seen this the Councils vison seems fair and balanced in terms of the plan and timeline nor does it offer anything preferential to Sale Sharks.
As for Garrido, the sooner he's replaced the better, typical Tory he cannot even be bothered to state facts, just like his ex leader Borris. Stay in you lane Councillor (Worsley).

Just shows how different spins on the same information can lend bias one way or another. Judging by the MEN article, it seems we have nothing to worry about just yet.

Could be our strongest one Looking at it we could score around 50% Obviously if we are £350,000 down we score v low on that and fan engagement.Seems we hav3 to generate a lot more income and get our marketing developed initially in order to make progress. Seb Gerrard on the Board? 😉

Who told you this JJR? There are always ways and means - get some of our excess 2nd Rowers out on loan to generate funds, etc. MEN quoted £350 k in debt being subsidised by the Council

There are always ways and means - get some of our excess 2nd Rowers out on loan to generate funds, etc. MEN quoted £350 k in debt being subsidised by the Council The 350k quoted is not listed in the document on Salford Councils website as far as I can see, this again is speculation until proven. The document is shared on the prior page. Garrido is a lazy Councillor, he cannot even be bothered to check facts, like attendance figures and what the Foundation does for the Salford Communities he serves. It is Party Politics from Worsley's very own Boris. JJR and LH Red the time is now to put differences on the clubs board aside. We all need to get behind the club on the stadium - its has to work, it is essential for our long term prosperity. BTW Paul King will always give his time to those willing to help.

Not putting a damper on things but MTR put lots of effort to get behind the Club mate with lots of others; all totally wasted effort…I really wish I had your confidence
I’ve supported the Club for more years than I wish to admit and I really hope it turns the corner
