What did you make of the match yesterday? England dominated large parts of the game but didn't turn the possession into enough points. I think they'll have to be much more clinical against the Aussies because they will score tries against any side. Need to cut out the mistakes as well. It wasn't a dreadful performance but I'd say it was short of what is required at that level. The kiwis were a little out of sorts and that was a great chance to beat them

Unfortunately we have two grafting halves rather than creative ones, against Australia the forwards will hold their own but the backs will get beasted, well and truly beasted.

I won't argue with your points there Michigan. Do you have any players in mind that would be better?

Sadly in the halves no, the big thing with SL is the clubs fall over themselves to bring in imports for the pivotal positions and don't invest in the youth. We need different centres, Watkins looks a shadow of who he was a year ago and Sarginson doesn't look international class. Who to replace them with is the issue.

Widdop/gale out for Williams, widdops goal kicking may lean towards him Sarginson out for percival, Bateman for Watkins maybe against ozzies to cover defence Taylor could come on subs bench then
I'd have brought Clark on earlier, put hodgson to 13 and Sam to 2nd row.
Echo much of the above, played ok just halves and centres aren't good enough. But we all knew that before the game kicked off.

I'd like to see Taylor given a run out to test him at international level. He's been outstanding the last two seasons for us and FC. I'd start with Clarke at nine. Sarginson looked out of his depth. Unfortunately I don't think we've anyone much better at the moment

For the World Cup we will have Jordan Turner in the centres, he is off to the NRL so automatically makes him better than anyone still flogging away in SL. Think Burgess will make it when he's back in the Wigan team, can see him scoring a hatful next season.

I've a feeling Turner will struggle in the NRL. He's a talented player but I'm not sure he's quite up to that level. I hope I'm wrong, time will tell.

Think Hardaker would have been a better option in the centres than both Sarginson and Watkins. That said if he signs for Salford he's got more chance of falling of the end of the earth than an international recall.

You're right there. I hope he signs though. Great player. Just need to keep an eye on his off field behavior if he does

Just seen a video showing that Johnson's drop goal which won the match missed the target. Why didn't the ref go to the video ref?

Think it's an optical illusion, there's no disagreement from the England players which is a good indicator it went through.
