Not as modern as the AJ granted but been to a few games at Moore Lane and even half full it's always a good atmosphere. For a club of our size and attendance a stadium like that is perfect.

It's on my list as is the Star (different direction). Perhaps a return to the Woodthorpe (last visited decades ago) Keep away from Prestwich it’s a local village for local people😉

Salfordslim If this is true,my first reaction is great sadness. I went to Salford City for quite a few years some of that time when it was 100 and a dog I got the impression from meetings th would not go to the AJB, but as I say you live and Learn 2 teams playing winter does it make sense 100 and a dog? That's was a full house back in the mid-90's when I (dis)graced the mighty tangerine shirt!😂 You're probably talking about an average of 50 and we could only dream of gates the likes of Clitheroe were getting (400+). I'm only repeating what was apparently said at a fans forum so I guess it's a bit more concrete than the usual Facebook/Twitter jibberish that's churned out. Is the Racecourse, closed.

Yeah it is at the minute and has been for around about a year now I think. Not sure what they're doing with the place as it's a cracking building and a massive waste.

They didn’t with London and they haven’t with Cas or Wakey for 20 years Yes, but we all now how inconsistent SL have been about applying their own rulings/standards over the past 20+ years. This could be just the excuse to get rid of one off the less fashionable (read small, non-expansion, non-Yorkshire) clubs out of SL.

Can't see them still favouring Yorkshire especially Castleford & Wakefield as they did in the past when theRFL HQ Was on their Doorstep, SRD Certainly won't get any Favouritism even with the RFL Hq now being just a 20 minute drive from the AJ Bell.

Had some good nights in their in the sixties, after cricket on Littleton Rd Good memories Thanks David Spoke to my mate last night who lives over the road from The Racecourse. Apparently they can't find a manager to run the place which is why it's shut. (can't believe there isn't a suitable bar manager twiddling his/her thumbs somewhere!). It's a Sam Smith's boozer and didn't realise what a knob the owner appears to be until I'd read a few articles online last night. So it seems the deal has been done for the AJ Bell. Sale & Salford City are buying the ground together and we're off to Moor Lane from 2022/23 season. I'm a ST holder at Salford City and on their fans forum someone has confirmed a fans forum took place tonight (although none of us ST holders seemed to be aware of it🤷♂️) and it was all confirmed. Now I'm slightly surprised it's been signed off by Super League (if it has been) as I was informed the pitch & runoff areas aren't big enough to meet SL requirements but that appears not to be the case. I look forward to away fans complaining about the lack of any parking ... (but at least the street parking is free!). Our move to Moor Lane is a long way from being agreed.... lots of hoops and cliches to jump through first...

The more I think about the move the less I like it. The attendance their is 5,100 I know we don't get that, but last year of crowds are average was near 4,000 as we know the parking is none existent I think when we play Wigan or Saints or Wire their fans will probably give it a miss,or if they do come because if their is say 3,800 of us only 13 hundred away fans can come. Yes I know we have to move it can't be helped, and I know we will probably be at Moor Lane I just don't fancy it.

I agree Dixon13. Moor Lane is a big step down. Probably the best of the bad options if leaving and we’ll have to make the best of it but I’m not happy about it

Let’s face it, we just have to get on with it. Hobson Choice.
The Club sadly now is only about survival, any development chances we has at AJ have gone because we never even raised the rent. So if the Community Board doesn’t get in the money we stay a Feeder Club, fighting* to Survive; which we’ll probably do in SL for a couple of years. Looks like Leigh Widnes matches will be along after that. We never seem to have a workable plan and appear to sit around waiting for Godot.
So it seems Moor Lane or nowt.
