So it seems the deal has been done for the AJ Bell. Sale & Salford City are buying the ground together and we're off to Moor Lane from 2022/23 season. I'm a ST holder at Salford City and on their fans forum someone has confirmed a fans forum took place tonight (although none of us ST holders seemed to be aware of it๐คทโโ๏ธ) and it was all confirmed.
Now I'm slightly surprised it's been signed off by Super League (if it has been) as I was informed the pitch & runoff areas aren't big enough to meet SL requirements but that appears not to be the case.
I look forward to away fans complaining about the lack of any parking ... (but at least the street parking is free!).

Was the willows that good for parking? Either way, I'm happy if this is true and we can get back to having a proper home rather than the "facility"we currently have, which is pants

I'm positive about Moor Lane, we are staying in Salford and that has to be a real plus here. Yeh were not going to have the new plush ground but we can actually put our stamp on the place and make it our fortress. I think attendances could improve due to location so let's be happy we have a home and the glass half full.

I'll put a review up of all the "local" pubs on here for those not familiar with the area.๐ It's slim pickings TBH so IF rumours are true the club need to try and get some decent beers on site and do a good deal where they keep a good %. Seven Brothers are already in there and Nathan McAvoy being one of the owners should be up for helping his old club (or so you'd think๐).

Now that does surprise me because I never thought Neville would share, you live and learn. Same here as that's what he said previously. Sad that a Salford "Super Club" couldn't have been created with SRD & SC but I guess money talks and let's be honest Sale have plenty of it! Wonder how many Salford footy fans will desert them as I know a lot live around the Kersal area and getting to games at the AJ Bell will be a trek. Likewise, will a few of our lapsed Broughton, Pendleton, Kersal based Rugby fans come out of the woodwork as Moor Lane would be more accessible to them?๐ค

I went to Salford City for quite a few years some of that time when it was 100 and a dog I got the impression from meetings th would not go to the AJB, but as I say you live and Learn 2 teams playing winter does it make sense

Even if SL currently approve of our move to Moor Lane my main concern about it is that, if we ever get relegated once we are playing there, SL will hold the ground against us for "not being up to Super league standard" when we try to get promoted again.

Yes, the street parking is free. That is until you return to your car after the game and find a parking ticket slapped on it, like at Salford City games.
As for pubs, The Friendship Inn is a great pub, but it is about a mile away!

It's on my list as is the Star (different direction). Perhaps a return to the Woodthorpe (last visited decades ago)

That's was a full house back in the mid-90's when I (dis)graced the mighty tangerine shirt!๐ You're probably talking about an average of 50 and we could only dream of gates the likes of Clitheroe were getting (400+). I'm only repeating what was apparently said at a fans forum so I guess it's a bit more concrete than the usual Facebook/Twitter jibberish that's churned out.

The street parking is quite clearly marked and is all over the club's website. I was at the Lincoln game on Saturday and couldn't believe the amount of people that had parked on Neville Road (mainly Range Rover owners TBF!) which is part of the restricted area. Yellow stickers everywhere! I guess they were probably non-regulars who had taken advantage of the free tickets (but then got slapped with a ยฃ70 parking fine!) And yes... Friendship is the nearest and then The Star in HB. The Woodthorpe is prob a 20 minute walk away or the Kersal Club on Littleton Road a similar distance. If we do move there, the club has a real opportunity to get a "club vibe" back about the place. Use the fans bars to show old games etc pre-match and maybe put on monthly pub-quizzes like they used to have in the vault at The Willows.

Watched a couple of the Euros matches there and it's the poshest Holt's pub I've ever been in.๐ Shame The George on Bury New Road is long gone as is the Kersal Hotel which was right next to the ground. They'd have been cracking pre-match boozers
