Just a thought. If I understand correctly, the council own the land and SC the lease in the buildings etc. If so, could they be trading their part with the council as part payment for their share in AJB? This would mean our sole landlords at Moor Lane would be the council.

At Garry Neville's last meeting, someone from our club was in attendance to explain our position. So should we be having an update, from our side. Just a thought I think that was Paul King wasn't it? Maybe he'll be there again tomorrow, I'm not sure. I think SRLFC's stance is probably not to announce anything officially until something concrete is in the offing. Sometimes best to say nothing rather than to send the rumour mill into overdrive, especially with some fans track record on Twitter/Facebook etc.🙄 I'll see what I can ask which isn't covered in the main presentation.

TBH Dixon, I don't think that has changed massively with the yellow lines. Basically you can't park anywhere between the ground and Bury New Road on the far side (if you're looking from Littleton Road side). The Moor Lane end of Kersal Road is also restricted as is the short stretch of Moor Lane from Kersal Road to the ground and a few hundred yards of Oaklands Road (from Kersal Road down to the not so "new builds" on the left hand side. So parking options are pretty much as follows. Bottom two thirds of Oaklands Road. Bottom of Moor Lane up to Kersal Road junction. Kersal Road (from around the small kids park down to Rainsough Brow) Other side of Bury New Road (Singleton Road & surrounding streets). So basically, while there isn't any on-site parking you will always find a spot within a 10 minute walk to the ground (depending on your fitness and ability to walk up big hills you'll probably want to choose your spot wisely😁). I'll have another nosey tonight and see if I can spot the additional double yellows mentioned above. For people like me that have parked near The Unicorn in Peel Green for home games, the walk to Moor Lane once parked up will feel like a trip to the corner shop.😁 Oh, and it's also £8 cheaper than the AJ Bell and doesn't take half hour to get away after the game.👍 As for the boozers.... if you take out the Barley Farm it's probably a very similar situation to the AJ Bell. Swap out The Unicorn and St Mike's in Peel Green and replace with The Friendship & Fairways Bar in Prestwich. Pretty much same distance for each of the grounds I'd say. You'd definitely get more pre/post match food options at Moor Lane though with plenty of takeaways in Sedgley Park plus YumYums cafe on Littleton Road which is pretty decent the couple of times I've used it.

Did anything of relevance to us, come out of the meeting? I mean I'm good, but considering the meeting is 6pm tonight I'm not a bloody mind reader!😂 All good (and some bad😁) things come to those who wait RJ.

Sorry not had a chance to summarise anything since last night but effectively I don't think there's anything new to be said. Upshot is, it's pretty much guaranteed that we're moving to Moor Lane.
I'll pop back on at lunchtime and see if I can post anything new from the notes I took (don't think there'll be anything that surprises anyone!).

There is a little bit on the Salford FC website but like everyone has said no surprises
Basically if Sale bought it we’d likely be out on our arse and Salford FC would still need a new ground so if Salford FC so buy it they get a decent ground and we get Moor Lane so kind of a win/win
If they do buy it though it doesn’t mean they’d move in next season guaranteed, it just means their future ground issue is sorted for when they need it

Yep, signed almost sealed and delivered.
We’ve now got to look forward and get our own plan for development beyond Moor Lane. The demise of the Club will be if we see it as a permanent home. Hope we’ve got ambition as Salford City FC obviously have and we don’t just sit around waiting for someone to bale us out. What Salford City have done in the past few years is superb; ambition.
We’re a Community SL Club from a proud city and we need a ground beyond Moor Lane which is an RL Championship ground at best. Temporary home it has to be but what is planned beyond that? Hope we have the ambition in the Club to achieve something beyond there. Or are we just accepting the inevitable?

Attendance is key. I think Paul King came up with a stat at a previous meeting as reported here that we've only exceeded the 6000 barrier something like 5 times in the last 140 games. We can't make plans to develop to somewhere bigger, or expand Moor lane until we're regularly nudging capacity there. Frankly, we need to almost double our average attendance to fill Moor lane, so that has to be the first goal, and then we can talk about what next. Everything else is irrelevent until we're seeing at least 5k every game and a bunch of sellouts each season.

Hopefully the club will make a big deal in the community about the move and ramp-up a little positive hype. We then build on that with better crowds. Easier said than done, I know, but I don't see any reason why that shouldn't be our first priority. No point looking too far ahead as the RFL change things so often we have no idea what the competition will look like even three years down the line let alone ten or more. We should be aiming for 5k as our priority, as you say.

Record crowd at Moor Lane is 4500 against Leeds in the League Cup (or EFL Cup to give it it's "proper" name). It was rammed that night so I'm not convinced it holds 5108, which is the official capacity
Still got concerns about whether the pitch is big enough (including run off areas) and a smaller playing surface ain't gonna make for exciting rugby. We'll also lose about 50 balls a match as basically any kick to touch ends up outside the ground due to the tiny stands 😂
And apologies for lack of update as promised.... not sure I've got much more to add tbh. It's pretty much an agreement in principle and I guess they just need all parties to sit down and work on the logistics etc. I did raise the question with Gary Neville as to why a Salford "super club" (SC & SRD) was never discussed as an option but I don't think he was ever interested in that, although I appreciate logistically it would have had issues sorting out (although I'm adamant there would have been benefits for both sides, although probably us more than them!). His hand was forced really on the AJ Bell by Sale and their 25 year lease and subsequent offer to purchase the ground.
Maybe Moor Lane can work for the rebuild and then if we can get some new fans and start pushing 4500/5000 crowds regularly and have to start turning fans away we can then look at a new community ground with Swinton? Say an 8000 seater possibly with community facilities that the clubs/council could use to recoup the build costs?
One thing that was mentioned on Thursday is that Moor Lane actually has some sort of a covenant on it to say it HAS to be used for sports and that the land can't be redeveloped for housing etc. Would definitely make things tricky if we ever wanted to move on and the council wanted to sell it off.
