The big problem for us is the spine. RM can't decide who he wants to play at FB with a different player each week. Tui is all effort but he's running around in circles mostly because he doesn't have that organiser inside him. Brown is supposed to be an experienced organiser but simply isn't doing it. Musical chairs at hooker also ruins any continuity. I understand that the team will change during the course of a season, but to gel as a side we need to keep a spine together as often as possible. All the game management, decisions, and go forward comes from them. It's also a little worrying that our most experienced players look finished at this stage of the season. Mossop and Brown have surely gone on a season too far? Brown is doing fine. Mossop isn’t old enough for it to be one season too far but he’s definitely not ‘at it’ at the moment. He has decided that he wants Sarge at full back but he’s been injured. Ackers has either been injured or banned,Taylor is injured. I suspect he knows his first 13 but it’s the subs and injury/disciplinary replacements that he’s struggling with. On reflection, there has been some improvement and that now needs to be converted into results You are obviously more optimistic than me. I don't want Brown to be fine. I want him to be firing on all cylinders and giving his all. He's THE key player for us and simply isn't consistent enough and goes missing for long periods. He's not the only one, but in such a key role it's unforgivable. Mossop is our captain and should be leading from the front. Last night we got ill-discipline and some of the worst defence from a seasoned prop I've seen in a long time. We look a livelier side when Ackers is on the field, we just need to keep him on the field rather than sat in the stands. Taylor is Taylor. All class, but he can't carry a whole team. We did look a lot better in patches last night, but the same old problems were there for all to see. Disjointed flat attack, penalties in key areas and mistakes when we needed them the least. We look low on morale and energy and really look like a team of utility players rather than a team of finely tuned positions working in harmony. I'm a little worried about the fact that the longer this goes on for the harder it's going to be to sort it out and ultimately that's how RM will be judged this season.

I think RM needs to carefully consider his team selections going forward. Chopping and changing the team unnecessarily when you have so many new faces doesn’t lend itself to building understanding and cohesion. It seems he’s a reactive type of coach that will just drop players for fun but perhaps he’d be better showing a little more patience. A knee jerk reaction of dropping players after one below average performance will just impact confidence and have a negative effect on team spirit within the squad. I just hope he isn’t the kind of stubborn coach that makes his mind up about players early and outcasts them without being prepared to invest the time improving them.

Think we need to get things in perspective Marshall said he's rotating his forwards Taylor Burke Greenwood Lussick Roberts Pauli etc all been injured and need to get up to speed and match fitness Ormondroyd Wells getting near SL standard, Mossop having to play big minutes, probably has niggles We've lost Joey Flanaghan McCarthy who were organising the forwards, thought Taylor and Addy might do that but Taylor injured and Addy was too busy playing the ref (and losing) against Cas, and he needs to grow up
Think Brown is organising quite well, to me probably our best against Leigh and Cas. Tui seems to be playing a one man game, should be supporting breaks and running at the line aka Rob Lui but he isn't and his passing is awful
Full back yes who is it? Not Escare at the moment, not Sarge for me, Kear stop gap, Tui in the role Connor plays? or when all fit Sio? Who knows, an issue but needs time
So we still have 3 points, more than a few others, Cas first half and last fifteen were good. For Cas2 Lussick Pauli, maybe Taylor Sarge and Inu back but as for his best settled team probably game 10 assuming all fit

In LE, RM identifies that he's trying to find the best slots for players and the best blend and he does want players to fix places. Seems reasonable that he has a structure and trying to find the best fit so having to try players and move them around. Also said Taylor Sarge Inu could be ok for Sat So I'm looking forward to more improvement in the Cup. We do need a couple of leaders/ organisers like Flanagan and Joey though.

Agree totally with that team, although my preference would be Kear at 1, Sarge in the centre and Livett replacing Ormondroyd in the 17 with Seb starting. Not going to happen though

I think RM will pick Addy due to his tackling stats - maybe Patten too although I agree JJR that Atkin should be in. Interestingly in the NRL many sides playing with BOTH hookers on the field simultaneously in the second half.

Not going to happen though" Yes I'd prefer Sarge facing and tackling that idiot Matutia; Livett needs to become more aggressive Think we need Lussick and Pauli to face Watts and Blair I like Seb as replacement, always adds go forward when they're tiring

Maurice they're getting better each match, patience Hick v poor Needed Lussick today to sort Matutia out Hicks has been poor yes but Johnson and Addy are not worth a spot in place of Pauli and Inu - they are our go forward and must start. Greenwood and Roberts put in a shift as did Seb. In truth I think Marshall is struggling out of his depth, one man rugby for the most part and lets be honest Cas were cold tonight. Yes we got beat by less than 20 but equally they look disjointed, cannot say I am impressed. Johnson = Prop Addy = Loose Forward Pauli = Second Row Inu = Winger Id say that the reason why they were selected, whats the point in having a winger on the bench when you need a forward!

The point about Inu ad Pauli is they have to play before others who started on Friday, we are a weaker side without them. The team below probably picks itself for Saturday - either Addy or Aitkin on the bench.
Sarge Sio Watkins Livett Inu Tui Brown Mossop Ackers Ormondroyd Roberts Greenwood Taylor
Atkins Pauli Ika Lussick
