I'm in two minds about it....

Pretty much everything said was positive -
going to end war with the RFL
u19s - temporary due to lack of funds (can't afford to run it himself like he did this year), u16s continue, 2 college teams, still engaging with young players in schools, possibly running a reserve team in which case some of the u19s will be invited back, talked to Leigh about a joint academy (nothing certain yet) and looking to talk to Swinton, Oldham, Rochdale and Manchester to join in
Adrian Morley - not sacked, talking to him about a changed role.  Wouldn't say more because its between the club and Adrian
Replacing Tim Sheens - up to Ian Watson to say what help he needs and the funds will be available
Player recruitment - was hoping to announce one tonight but haven't had contract back yet so will be tomorrow (pretty much said it is a prop from Wigan), will be one more later in the week (hopefully) and then that's it
Marketing/increasing fans - best thing here was every school in Salford and Manchester will have a player as an ambassador, more work with schools- kids free with parents. Negotiating with Sale and Leigh about reciprocal deals for season tickets to get half price tickets. Got SL marketing team in to help - I think in general but specifically for 3 games - Wigan, Warrington and he wasn't sure about other one. Presence in the Lowry outlet which will sell tickets and merchandise and also have the marketing team based there.  Big marketing push will start at end of November - current aim is to get season ticket holders signed up first.  Improved use of website, improving databases, leaflets, posters, all the usual
There will be a meeting like this once a month where people can come and ask questions and make suggestions

so what's not to like?  Well I walked away wondering how any of it was going to happen - he was specifically asked about a marketing team and he talked about the SL marketing team, someone said most of this has been promised before and someone else asked how 4 years in to his time at the club the marketing and engagement hasn't been improved and he talked about how the team had got better results this year compared to last.  Maybe he has some new marketing people or he is going to get more out of the current ones but there was nothing said.  A couple of people asked if they were going to take details of the people there tonight, nope.  One man said he knew 6 people's details Marwan asked if he could write them down he'd make sure someone wrote to them (or something) he said a couple of times that he wanted people to volunteer to go leafleting etc but not how to volunteer, do we just phone him direct or the club or the foundation??

There was somebody sat at the table with him.  He never introduced him but checked with him a few times about details - has new player contract arrived, when season tickets ready.  Marwan was asked if his friend was the Chief Exec, he said no but didn't say what his role was - he's called Russ though.  Russ offered to get something on the website tomorrow (way of registering details I think) but Marwan over ruled him and said they won't do that, Russ said open day would be on December 11th and Marwan said he didn't know that and would be in Hong Kong watching one of his horses race that day. He said the website was sh!t.  it may or may not be (I think it's ok- not great but ok) and I wondered how his staff who built/managed it would feel about that.  So all that kind of thing wasn't very inspiring

So loads of good stuff.  The on-field felt promising but off-field there was not enough of the structure or content so left me wondering how much of it will happen.
