McCarthy states his future at Salford has come to an end.
Great servant to the Club just probably getting to that stage where he's a bit off the pace. Be good for Leigh or a top Championship club as a leader.

Be good for Leigh or a top Championship club as a leader. Tyrone was very good for us and hopefully he'll get a contract playing again this year. I think the change of emphasis at Salford this year, with longer term contracts aimed at improving the stability within the team has possibly gone against him due to his age. I also heard he was one of the last big contracts from the Doc's reign so it may have simply come down to value for money. |

I’d never criticise anyone for hanging out for what they’re worth. Basic self respect. Its like the proverbial house sale,though. He’ll need to settle for what someone will pay,or else say it’s not worth putting his body through the mill,again. In any event,good luck to him PS I’ve always wondered why Watson took the 13 shirt off Flash and gave it to him. |

Perhaps he saw him as a starting player and Flanagan off the bench: would think Taylor has now replaced him.

I think McCarthy would have liked to stay but from what we can gather his value of himself was a lot greater than the Clubs

Bit of a shame, good player and good leader, well liked and respected by all accounts. That said, we do have an abundance of riches in his position/s, we can’t keep everyone.

Yeah shame to see McCarthy go and seems like he'd been at the club since before 2017. Great pro and never let us down over the past 3/4 seasons. But as said, we do have plenty of cover in the second row so maybe his wages couldn't justify keeping him on.
I like the look of the squad, plenty of cover across the team although main concern is 7/9 if injuries hit. Need someone who can provide the spark that Joey gave us when he was on the pitch and Brown needs to stay fit!
Interestingly, I've just been reading the Hull fans board on RLFans and I don't think one of them predicted us finishing above 9th. I think losing Watson is clouding a lot of judgment and hopefully Marshall can carry on the good work he started. Personnel wise I think we're more than capable of top 8 and with a good start top 6 isn't out of the question at all.

Looking at the way RL went last year and RU footy and cricket are going this year squad size and quality is absolutely essential
Probably our biggest squad for many years and with quality and so I think we're a top 8 cert
I think major problems will exist for Catslan. I can't see any team travelling there until end of June say, so they'll probably be based in the U.K. ground sharing

Only 5 of the 17 remain at the Club, and the coach has gone to Judasfield apparently

look we must have abandoned the new kit aswell and are keeping the same as last season! We all get you dont like the media put out by the club but the constant bashing of it isnt really healthy is it? Pretty much everyone knows the new squad number have recently been released! is that not enough |
