If I had to pick our strongest 17 it would be:
Agreed, there's going to be a lot of selection headaches for Marshall, especially in the backs. Patton would be the ideal signing to cover, 6,7 & 9. Plenty of strength in depth in the squad, and if we gel early doors we could have another good season.

I’d have Pauli on the bench in place of Johnson or Addy. Looks like strong team to me, especially when you consider who has been left out of this list.

Deffo have Pauli playing. I think full back will be the spot that causes Marshall to think. One assumes Escare was a Watson signing, we have a some quality wingers to choose from and Joe Burgess can cover at FB. Given Escare has not played for a season I would be surprise if he starts, Costello also can cover FB. Plenty to consider, depends what the coach wants.

Think Ormondroyd was on a 1 year deal, so no confirmation yet
Patton short term whatever that means
Aspey trial
McCarthy, someone identified he had a short term deal
And yes Pauli Pauli very big but still one person
So somewhere between 27 and 31 for the whole season if my sums are any good. Biggest squad ever possibly
And to think the likes of
Evalds Dudson Lussick BMM Jones Hastings Lui etc would be around if we had the money: well done Bleasey

I’ve removed the extra Pauli 🤦♂️
McCarthy is training on his own. There have been rumours we have been negotiating an extension with him but definitely nothing sorted yet and he’s not part of the squad.
Not sure about Ormondroyd. I thought he was with us for this year but can’t see that confirmed anywhere now I’ve looked. Anyone else know for sure?

Looking like a top notch squad and staff and I think the look of our game plans and style of play will look very different which is probably just as well given the number of ex-players out their with info on how we used to work.

I think the obvious choice at fullback to rival Escare is Ken Sio. Whilst at Hull KR he spent a lot of his time in the fullback role and excelled at it too. As we appear to have a lot of options for wing positions it also gives us more balanced options |
