From that list wouldn't be too disheartened with Danny Orr. Like Watson he's a halfback so at least we'll get some attacking rugby still plus he's highly rated by players. [/quoted te] My thoughts exactly.

Yeah I'd be happy with Orr and Rowley together.

That's like Ferguson after sucess leaving United and going to Brighton, it would not happen to much to loose

My initial thoughts about Watto leaving was why Huddersfield? I was really annoyed because he'd been doing the promotional videos all week and going on about unfinished business. I think we are all a bit biased because we are fans and to Ian Watson it's a job. If someone came along and offered us a job with a lot more money, potentially better players and a financial backer we'd probably do the same.
After thinking about this for 24 hours I'm thinking it all looks a bit sudden, like a very quick decision and a change of heart. What may have happened quickly to influence the decision? I thought it may have been Jackson Hastings agreeing to go to Huddersfield with Watson, but then they have Aiden Sezer so do they need him? I'm sure in time we'll find out.
Very disappointed but these things happen and we have to keep the faith.

I’d try to interview experienced Head Coaches from Clubs that had had success on limited budgets. I’d short list people like Richard Marshall who over achieved with Halifax before taking a full time assistant role at St Helens, Danny Ward from London, James Ford from York and possibly Stuart Littler from Swinton.

I'm curious as Blease mentions interest from overseas. Wonder which of the NRL super coaches know a good gig when they see it

At first I thought it was just Bleasey doing his job and saying stuff to steady the ship and reassure people but with Jacko last year and Joey going straight to NRL then we will be on the radar of the NRL clubs and they haven't signed Joey off the back of a highlights real, they must have watched a few games. Most seem to be agreed its Rowley's if he wants it but if not then an assistant from the NRL isn't a bad option, worked out ok for Saints when they signed Holbrook.

Guess it depends on budget for incoming players and the budget/marquee signing side of the finances.

If we are looking at ex players John Cartwright would be my favourite though he has just been given the Brisbane Broncos Assistant job,Daniel Holdsworth at Cronulla is doing the under 20’s though whether he would come back after the way we treated him remains to be seen, still think Richard Marshall having learnt his trade at Halifax and followed up by assistant at St Helens is worth a punt accompanied by Rowley and Brown

There are quite a few ex-NRL coaches available, likes of Dean Pay, Shane Flanagan, Paul Green, Anthony Seibold and Neil Henry. Also a few assistants who could step up to head coach in Craig Fitzgibbon, Stephen Kearney, Terry Matterson and Jason Demetriou.
