I'm going throw a very left field name into the hat Farrell, bring him back from Union He'll be on more in a month than we could offer him per year. No the more I think about it the more Danny Moor seems like a good idea. Or a real left field idea. The Walker Brothers, Ben and Shane Walker have shown in the lower league in Australia they have a different but winning formula.

Isn't John Cartwright available? With a grand final appearance, cup final appearance and recent exposure we should be a fairly attractive proposition. Can see a good grade of applicant coming in.

Anthony Seibold? Played some cracking attacking tugby with Rabbitohs.

Think it's all a moot point.
Unless a real super star coach wants a challenge it's going to be Rowley.
We'll go through the pretence of interviews but at the end it's nailed on Rowley.
Not that it's a bad thing, he knows the club, players, will have been involved in recruitment for 2021 and like it or not our upturn last season came at the same time as when he got involved.
More and more this all just beggars belief, a squad not as successful as ours, a record of hiring and firing coaches and above all leaving when genuinely are on the cusp of something very special.
There's something not right about it all, it just doesn't make any sense at all.

Agree MR, I’m very confused. It’ll all come out in the wash I imagine.

Don't play Rowley down. He knows rugby inside out with a great rugby brain. He's a really good coach, total enthusiast, lives in Worsley and a really genuine and nice guy. If he doesn't want it then we had an assistant coach go to RU. He might want a change. And the pair of them together would be really good.
Sad but we have to move forward. Watto has made his decision to be yesterday's man.
(But I'm now waiting before I buy my season ticket!)

Hopefully we include Ikahihifo as part of the payment.
I know that this might come across as petty but I hope he fails, and fails miserably.
This all smacks of Huddersfield offering and Watson accepting OVERS contract wise.
I don't begrudge him doing it, I just think he's been rather foolish.
My fear over this is that him going might effect any investment or purchase as stability is so appealing.

When you have had some success, and a coach leaves rather than being sacked, if you think the assistant is the right man then act quickly.
For me, we should appoint Rowley immediately and bring in a respected, recently retired player as his assistant. This will settle things down after this shock and we can finish any recruitment process quickly. We don’t want it to be dragging on into pre-season.
Watson will no doubt have a large pay increase at Huddersfield and that’s fair enough. However, if he tries to entice some of squad then he will damage his legacy and been seen by many as a hypocrite.

I thought I'd sleep on it before posting and now I have I still don't know what to make of it. It seemed to come out of the blue, how long has he been talking to them ? He's done a promo for season tickets saying he's got unfinished business. Just seems odd and as has been said, the clubs the most stable it has been for years and there was the opportunity to build a real legacy, I get Huddersfield can operate at full cap but there has to be more to it than that and it seems like a sideways move. Hopefully it won't affect recruitment as most of it should have been sorted by now and therefore you'd expect Rowley to be the natural successor. I do think it will effect season tickets, those fans that have crept back due to the relative success of the last 3 or 4 years will now be thinking twice. I just hope the announcement of his replacement is soon so we get a full and proper pre-season. I think it also ends the Jacko coming home debate too.
Shaun Wane has been mentioned which is an interesting one, if he fancies a challenge. Is a different set up than he was used to at Wigan with a lot less resource and I can't see him getting on with Bleasey for some reason.
Players come and go, as do coaches and even owners. The fans and the Club are the constant.

Personally think Flash would be a good shout as an assistant if he fancies it , only just retired and will have the players respect, knows how our teams lays run and know how the coaches prep etc
Might have with the transition

Get Rowley appointed ASAP and give the Squad continuity - he knows the club, we need to make signings to replace players we are losing so time is crucial here. We've been down the road of overseas coaches before many of which have not worked out.
