For me call an end to the normal season, put all the names in the hat and play knock rugby, the only issue is with Toronto pulling out it leaves us with an odd number of teams.

I think it will only get worse in the short term. With the depths of winter around the corner I can see it being extended into the new year for England, and possibly for everyone else. Should really be looking to wind-up the season and batten down the hatches ready for next season.

It will get extended 2 weeks at a time sighting (quite rightly) peoples stupidity and refusal to follow a few rules.

Yes a rave in Astley last night apparently, 300+ snowflakes. Easy just take their privileges off them; Grants, social support, use of NHS, higher education etc
Or transport them to some far off Scottish island with all their gear for 6 months
We're too soft.

Really I just popped in to see if you're all okay but what do I find "I've given up trying to keep up with the rules." and " ..and refusal to follow a few rules." plus a load of draconian suggestions that General Pinochet would've been proud of. I'll take it you're all fine then! Stay well and safe.

This is the same people who grumble the government isn't doing enough to help.
Baton charges, water cannons and 100% prosecution rates.

Yes, it is a battle between a government that doesn't know what it's doing and the general idiocy of a select part of society. Scotland doesn't deserve England's share of morons though, that's a bit harsh. Can we not just send them to the USA where most of the planet's idiots live?

Whichever party you support, any government would be on a loser. Half the population want more lockdown, the other half want none. I’d hate to have to make that sort of judgment call when lives are at stake in both scenarios.

All we can ask is if our loved ones and friends make it through.
Doing what I do for a living you see the stupidity, the amount of people who get in the car and ask if they have to put a mask on is mind blowing, had to launch a couple of them out.

There's one thing entering new ground, and then there's making absolutely the wrong decisions (or the right decisions too late) Johnson was told about 5 weeks ago to go for a two week lockdown to stop this and he said no. He then berated everyone else for suggesting he follow the scientists. So now England has to do a month in Lock down, minimum. Then there's the real reason we have to have the original lock down, namely to buy time to put into place an effective test and trace so that restrictions could be eased and normality, or close to, could be maintained. Just like other countries had done before us providing a decent framework to stay on top. What did they do? They wasted the time and when it came out costing £12 billion it doesn't work correctly because it uses frigging excel 2000 edition. It still doesn't work. Then there's PPE contracts without tender to tory party donors that have not provided enough or even the right type to those that need it. Studies out this week have shown that eat out to help out has been one of the catalysts for the current surge. Yet the government went ahead with it even though they were told that it was a bad idea. It goes on and on.
I'm not saying that the task is easy, but some of the decisions have been so obvious yet have not been made, that you can't let those making the decisions try and worm their way out of blame by pointing at anti-mask nutters, students, and the north as those to blame.
Mistakes have been made. Some of them deliberately. Accountability means that there is no free passes.

i think this should be the end of party politics on this thread but it just amazes me that the people who didn't want Lockdown 1 and could solve everything with hindsight are now the people calling for earlier Lockdown 2
Let's face it we only get info fed from dumb reporters or often rogue profs who think they have a priviliged view because they have a title. We don't really know what's going on but if we don't support what's being planned then it'll go on forever.
The only people who'll solve this are the scientists. Have faith, we have a fantastic bio science base in this country.
