Common sense will apply because situation caused by Covid, obviously, even if not due to positive tests . Oh,it’s the RFL,so maybe not....

Wire awarded 24-0 win.
Bit weird. The RFL should just scrap the season. They've monumentally mismanaged the fixture lists with some teams barely playing and others getting hammered with them. Shambles.
At least Wire managed to beat us at the seventh time of trying I suppose. Haha.

Does anybody care whether this game is awarded to Wire? It gives them their only win over us this year and, if that lets them think they have the bragging rights during the close season, I don't give a toss. All I want now is for our players (and other clubs' players) to stay well and not risk career-ending injury by having to play with broken ribs. Call it a day!

What happened when Leeds didn’t play Catalans, without any positive Covid tests? I don’t think anything did? You are right. Nothing happened. But then they are Leeds and we are Salford.

Having said that, I think that they are, like everyone else, doing their best in unprecedented circumstances. They managed to put on a CC final at Wembley and have kept the professional game going. Im not sure whether the credit goes to them or Superleague? The fixture schedule is,even at the best of times,a real challenge. They may well have done better but,for once,I’ll give them a pass for trying. The Leeds situation was obviously different but they applied common sense and arrived at the right conclusion. Fingers crossed

I think as alluded to earlier in the thread, this is entirely SL's making - not the RFL. We should lob in the Catalans game as well whilst we are at it.

Common sense at last. Players welfare comes first, who cares about the result anyway the whole competition is a farce and whoever wins it will know it’s not a real trophy.

We should have just played dumb and said that some players on the day of the game had reported symptoms and said we were waiting to get them tested.

I think it was done to save Warrington the embarrassment of losing to our academy and late recruits team after a run of 5 defeats to us. After all "it is their year"
What really annoys me is that RL/SL/Sky/commentators have not praised Salford for their effort over the past month and on Monday night. It was all about Saints youngsters who've been cherry picked as the cream of the young crop, trained together all year but were as fresh as they possibly could be.
Watto doesn't give in easily. The squad must be in a mess. And now we'll lose 6 points next season to keep Toronto in SL
Is the Catalan game in the UK or is it a flight Sunday night into the nightmare that is Covid ridden France with curfews in most major cities. N Spain not good either.
Let's get the teams they want: WearethebestSt Helens, ItsouryearWire, we're wherewebelongLeeds, itsourrightWigan into the play offs, get the matches played, close the door and say Good night end of season.

Have a top 4 playoff and let the players have a decent break before the new season hopefully starts in February. And the abuse that you and the Salford club have received from ‘Helawigmen’ and others on the main forum is absolutely disgraceful. That is why I have virtually withdrawn from that forum.

Is it a case of the club just losing the two points or can we be fined or punished in other ways? After such massive points deductions in the past nothing surprises me with the RFL. Surely the first obligation is a duty of care to the players not the Super League.

Kind of makes you want Toronto to be allowed back in without any punitive measures (the thought being they binned a season while we just binned 1 game due to sheer lack of numbers).
For me the RFL/SL need to use common sense (yes I know that's asking the impossible) and see that we have just about the smallest squad in the league, have played more games (mainly due to reaching the final and having positive test results) than I'd bet any other team has played in such a short space of time in SL history.

W@nky now playing Hudds on Friday with their game being off due to Cas COVID cases. If we're punished further by the RFL then they really are a bunch of c*nts.
Gutted we're having to forfeit the 2 points but the right thing for the club to do. You can see some of the players are broken and whilst it wasn't a classic v Saints you've got to give the lads huge credit for putting their bodies on the line and scraping the win through sheer bloody-mindedness.
Hopefully the extra few days will give us enough time to get a few more bodies back for the Catalans game as if we have to forfeit that as well there's no way the RFL will be lenient

So if Warrington win on Friday they get 4 points for a nights work after a rest for 3 weeks. Yes that sounds fair.
Should be interesting Monday, could be a MR 9s game as we're knackered and they have CV
