Apparently we’ve signed him on a ‘multi-year deal’ and he joins with immediate effect

See if watto can get him back to his best, and with injuries being picked up recently for me a welcome addition and local lad, welcome home

I think he’s an excellent signing.

Happy with this.
I think Watkins really needs a coach like Watson at the moment. The pressure he's been under will be reduced at Salford which hopefully will see him regain his previous form. Never underestimate off-field stability in helping players find their form. I think his missus and family will be much more settled which allows him to apply everything to his game.
Perked me up a bit after the weekend.

I’m really pleased with that signing. Hopefully Watto can work his magic. A back 5 of Escare, Burgess, Watkins, Sarginson, Sio/Williams looks a bit special (if a little on the old side)

Although happy with the signing it’s forwards we desperately need. It’s no use having a great set of backs if you don’t have the forwards to lay the platform for them.

Just looked at his stats.
Aged 29. 256 Super League appearances for Leeds, Watkins scored 132 tries, 98 goals, and won six Grand Finals in the process, along with two Challenge Cup victories, two League Leaders’ Shields and a World Club Challenge win. Twenty-five England caps scoring 12 tries.
We can't really be questioning anything on this one. Maybe we're seeing the Watson effect in real time. Where players actually want to come here to play rather than retire.

Are we sure that Sarge is staying ? Overall, though, this is really good news. Now,focus on the pack !

Neither can I, he was Leeds' captain before he joined Gold Coast and wouldn't have been on peanuts there, or at Toronto for that matter. Where are we finding the money? There must be somebody putting cash into our club if we're making signings of this calibre. Can't see Sarginson going anywhere to be honest, he seems settled at Salford and is with us next year and possibly the year after. I can't remember. And agreed, we're a little bit short in the front row. I believe we only have Mossop & Johnson signed up for next year, but hopefully we can keep hold of Big Seb & Greg Burke. It's surprising we haven't brought anyone else in with Adam Walker leaving us. Having said that, the following backline is one of the best in Super League. And with back rowers of Lannon, McCarthy, Pauli Pauli, Roberts, Livett, Addy & Yates we should be very pleased with how our 2021 squad is shaping up! 1. Escare 2. Sio 3. Watkins 4. Sarginson 5. Burgess 6. Tui 7.

That means real competition in the centers.
Don't worry about the money, I don't believe SRD spend what they don't have now.

I think we’d all feel a whole lot better if we signed a big ugly Aussie prop !

I think we’d all feel a whole lot better if we signed a big ugly Aussie prop ! Doesn't have to be Australian, I'd have taken Brad Singleton but apparently he's going to Wigan, if he doesn't stay at Toronto. I really hope we can keep hold of big Seb & Burke, and Josh Johnson looks like he will continue to improve. For 2021, we need to bring in at least two prop forwards, no doubt Bleasy and Watto will have their eyes on a few players. What's everybody's thoughts on Kevin Brown? Should we keep him for next season? Personally, I think we should see how he goes until the end of this season but have our eyes on someone else in the background. He's been a fantastic player over the years but he'll be 36 for the start of next season, he might be better playing in the Championship.

Think I read on here Brown is contracted for next year. He needs to start leading the team now.
