I think that is part of the reason Noble quit, regardless of if you like him or not you really can't see him wanting to be party to things like this going on. Reads like a more extreme version of marwans time at Salford. You need the right people around you when you take on a venture like this. Noble is a common denominator in both situations Isn't the common denominator that bloke from the MEN?

More likely to be the Dream Team of
Ex Salford and many other new enterprises Manager Brian Noble and that famed Administrator Martin Vickers ex Salford Council and Salford Reds

Funny I seem to remember Noble was involved in the Stuart Fielden, Wigan salary cap overspend and wasn't Vickers our CEO when the 6 point deduction took place?

Vickers was who I was thinking of earlier, the guys a simpleton of the highest order.
From what I remember paid by Toronto but never leaves the UK, you'd think the fault with visas lays squarely at his door.

To be fair even to mr Vickers any plan made in normal times would have to have a lot of leeway and plans B,C & D through to Z to cope with these circumstances.

It's simple you don't organise it and the entire organisation rinds to a halt.

Martin Vickers is the other (and probably more important) common factor between our Koukash era and Toronto.
I don’t think it’s a matter of just renewing the visas though. As I understand it, They have visas that enable them to work/reside in the uk for 6 months In a given year. Because they haven’t been able to go to Canada the 6 months have been used up. To renew it would give them 12 months so is not possible and another solution needs to be found
You’d think the government would recognise it is due to Covid and make an exception but given the home offices approach I wouldn’t bet on it
It should have been sorted before now though

They are using visas intended for sportspeople based elsewhere and travelling here for multiple games/tournaments/etc. But they have then chosen to predominantly base their team here rather than Toronto - for that you need a different type of visa or you run the risk of what happened to Lussick last year and what is happening now. In the slim chance get some sort of exemption due to Covid they still need to sort this visa issue next season.

If they mess up the visas as per LR and it was a known problem why didn't they send non Eu players back to Oz/ NZ? Shoddy and unprofessional. So it's their responsibility and they sort. Their problem they suffer the consequences.

I followed the link and got to an old story that had nothing to do with covid but like most of this the silly immigration rules that reflect modern British attitudes and the politics of hostile environment. (Yes I know we're not talking politics but that's what most of this is about.)
You followed the rules to break the rules, or was it the other way round?
It will always be the case that things go wrong and people get the wrong of the stick to work with and you'd think SRD fans above all would be wary.
