I only mentioned the Government and stuck to facts relevant to rugby league - sorry chaps! Don't be sorry, there's a load of nonsense going on and avoiding it cos it might get political is just as silly.
There's is almost no doubt that there will be a second wave and that's been a political/cost (same thing) decision. By the way I'll be very happy if I'm wrong about the second wave even if it means one of the least able governments in history continues.
So, all in all, we'll be very lucky, Lotto winning level lucky, to see live games this year. And a quick reminder that the general discussion says you can talk about anything on here. And if you don't agree you can say so or ignore it.

The game will always be affected by political decisions this is an unusual and enormous set of different circumstances. You can't avoid this but the trick is not to insult anyone because you don't agree. Disagreeing and having a point of view are perfectly okay. Avoiding saying what you think is rubbish.
My father in law used to hate political discussions but that was because he never had a leg to stand on.

Keep the political stuff elsewhere, don't want this deteriorating. It would help if you took your own advice MR. There was a light hearted comment about the government. Not a massive political point. I’d rather you stopped pointing people to far-right thinkers. That’s every bit as political as what has started this. You have/used to have a blurb attacking anti-frackers I agree about not letting the thread or board get derailed by politics which is why I ignore the political points you make so we don’t get into a bun fight. So have it one way or the other MR

I just want to point out that this hasn't deteriorated and there's no reason why it should. We can't afford to ignore the political circumstances we're in, or to avoid talking about them. I don't mind what people say, I'd rather know where they stand and I won't disrespect them though I might give their views the rounds of some good natured banter. Other than that I agree with redunderthebed.

Other than that I agree with redunderthebed. I've made this point previously, that politics, while relevant under certain circumstances leads to pages of ranting. We'd like to keep this part of the forum a RL sanctuary where we can escape from the constant bombardment we get everyday. We do have other sections of the forum for off-topic stuff, so feel free to use that for politics or religion or whatever. The only caveat is that heated discussion is respectful and doesn't spill into this part of the forum. If everyone could follow these rules everyone should be happy.

Keep the political stuff elsewhere, don't want this deteriorating. Keep your hair on. It was a light hearted comment. But I do seem to remember before the last election you were on about Jeremy Corbyn on this forum and I still don't know what for.

Word of an announcement today from the RFL that promotion and relegation is off this year. Sensible but not great for those aiming for promotion obviously.

Several things would play into this, less Sky money mostly but also the SL clubs not wishing for less from the less and when you add that some clubs may cease to exist before this is all over it does seem the most sensible decision if not truly fair.

P&R decision delayed again. Quickly turning into a shambles as we all know what the outcome will be.
‘6 again’ and no scrums agreed when the season resumes.
The overseas quota is also dropped but the non-Fed trained quota remains - meaning you can sign 7 Aussies if you want which kind of defeats the purpose but it is simpler.
